As part of this transition, Jim Whitehead has been promoted to Commercial Director.

UK – Pulse, a leading manufacturer of narrow web ink solutions for label and packaging printers, has announced a strategic restructuring and brand refresh aimed at supporting its ambitious global growth plans.
As part of this transition, Jim Whitehead has been promoted to Commercial Director. Having joined Pulse in mid-2023 as Export Sales Director, Whitehead played a key role in expanding the company’s international footprint, particularly in Europe, with the establishment of Pulse Polska in early 2024.
In his new role, he will oversee internal sales, product management, and marketing, with a clear focus on enhancing customer satisfaction, streamlining product portfolios, and strengthening communication channels.
Simultaneously, Richard Wood steps into the role of Global Sales Director. Since joining the company over three years ago as UK and Ireland Sales Director, Wood has fortified Pulse’s position in its home market.
He will now extend that success globally, leading customer and distributor engagement worldwide as Pulse continues to scale its presence through innovative ink chemistries that improve system-wide printing efficiency.
Gary Seward, co-founder and Managing Director, commented, “I’m delighted that Jim and Richard have embraced these new roles. With their combined expertise, we’re well positioned to accelerate our growth and deliver even greater value to our customers.
“Over the past 20 years, Pulse has evolved to offer printers real differentiation—from high-strength, single-pigment solutions to innovations like fixed anilox spot colour printing, which are transforming the flexo market.”
Speaking on his appointment, Whitehead emphasized the company’s role beyond product supply, “Pulse is more than just an ink supplier—we are a true partner to label printers. At Labelexpo Europe 2025, stand 3G93, we’ll be showcasing how solutions like PureTone and MonoLox translate into real-world benefits.”
Wood added, “I look forward to engaging with printers worldwide to help them optimize their operations and avoid the pitfalls of inefficient printing. Labelexpo Europe 2025 offers a great platform to connect and share our forward-thinking solutions.”
Supporting this global strategy are Ben Howell, Technical Sales Manager (Export), and Artur Mansfeld and Przemysław Juszczyk, Sales Managers in Poland.
Complementing the leadership changes is a refreshed brand identity. Pulse has unveiled a new logo and visual identity, retiring the ‘Roll Label Products’ descriptor.
The updated branding reflects a modern, unified approach—symbolized by the target motif (precision and focus) and a new green accent colour that signals a stronger commitment to sustainability.
Under the new strapline, “Making print simple,” Pulse reinforces its mission to deliver consistent, high-quality printing through advanced technology, expert support, and a unified team approach.
The new branding is being rolled out across all regions, including Pulse Polska, with a redesigned website launching soon at pulserl.com.
Seward concluded, “Unifying all operations under one strong identity empowers us to fully embody our mission—to simplify print and deliver meaningful results for customers worldwide.”
