CANADA – Resource Label Group (RLG), a full-service label and packaging solutions provider, has strengthened its North American footprint by acquiring Imprimerie Ste-Julie (ISJ).
Based in Sainte-Julie, Québec, ISJ specializes in customized and sustainable label solutions, serving industries such as food, beverage, pharmaceutical, natural products, and cosmetics.
Caroline Fournier and Marilène Fournier own and operate the company, which has built a reputation for quality and innovation.
Caroline Fournier, co-president of ISJ, expressed excitement about the acquisition, “Joining the Resource Label Group family is an exciting new chapter for Imprimerie Ste-Julie. For nearly 50 years, we have been committed to delivering exceptional quality and service to our customers.
“RLG will allow us to expand our capabilities, introduce new innovations, and continue offering the personalized experience our clients expect. We are thrilled to join a network that shares our dedication to excellence and growth.”
This acquisition marks RLG’s 34th expansion, reinforcing its position as a leader in the packaging sector.
Headquartered in Tennessee, US, RLG operates across US and Canadian markets, providing pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, folding cartons, flexible packaging, and healthcare packaging.
As a portfolio company of Ares Management, RLG aligns closely with ISJ’s industry focus, making the integration seamless.
RLG CEO Mike Apperson praised ISJ’s market leadership, saying, “The Fournier family has grown this business into a leader in the Québec market—one that aligns perfectly with our commitment to excellence and innovation.
“This acquisition allows us to serve customers in Québec better, and we are excited to grow with the Imprimerie Ste-Julie team.”
Further expansion with Screenprint/Dow acquisition
RLG’s growth strategy continues with the recent acquisition of Screenprint/Dow’s label business, reinforcing its dedication to preserving and expanding the legacy of industry pioneers.
Walter Dow, founder of Screenprint/Dow, is recognized as a leader in the field, having received the TLMI Converter of the Year award.
“We are thrilled to welcome Screenprint/Dow’s label business into the Resource Label family,” said Mike Apperson.
“Walter Dow is a legend in our industry. His contributions have set a benchmark for quality, innovation, and service, shaping how we all approach labeling solutions. This acquisition is not just about growth but honouring and continuing that incredible legacy.”
Through this acquisition, Screenprint/Dow’s customers will gain access to advanced technologies, expanded capabilities, and a coast-to-coast network while still benefiting from the high standards they expect.
Dow expressed confidence in RLG’s stewardship: “After decades of building a business rooted in quality and relationships, finding the right home for the label business was essential. Resource Label Group stood out as a company that values legacy and has the resources to elevate what we’ve built.”
While the acquisition includes Screenprint/Dow’s label operations, other product offerings remain independent. With these strategic expansions, RLG continues solidifying its position as a dominant force in the North American packaging industry.
