Pro C5400 Series combines high productivity with advanced automation features to support a wider variety of applications.

JAPAN – Ricoh has introduced its latest innovation in colour production printing with the launch of the Pro C5400 Series, a new line designed to deliver faster production speeds, enhanced usability, and greater media versatility for commercial and enterprise printing environments.
The new series will replace the outgoing Pro C5300 range, comprising the Pro C5310S, C5300S, and C5300SL, as Ricoh phases out the older models.
Targeted at operations handling short-run and on-demand jobs, the Pro C5400 Series combines high productivity with advanced automation features to support a wider variety of applications.
Key performance upgrades in the Ricoh Pro C5400 Series are designed to improve productivity and turnaround times for print service providers significantly.
One of the standout enhancements is its high-speed output, with the ability to print up to 80 pages per minute (ppm) in full-colour, making it well-suited for environments handling high-volume, short-run jobs.
In addition to faster printing, the new series dramatically reduces warm-up time. The Pro C5410S now warms up in just 26 seconds, while the Pro C5400S is ready to operate in 30 seconds, compared to the previous generation’s 120 seconds.
This quick start-up capability enhances operational efficiency, especially in fast-paced production settings where every second counts.
Duplex scanning speeds up to 300ppm, with new AI-powered orientation detection for efficient processing of small-format documents like business cards.
Ricoh has enhanced image registration and media handling through improved paper feeding stability and precise image alignment, including trapezoidal and right-angle correction.
The series supports a wide range of substrates such as coated and waterproof papers, synthetics, envelopes, clear plastic files, and long sheets up to 1.3 metres.
Usability is also a key focus, with a revamped touchscreen interface and upgraded paper setting UI to ensure consistent print quality. Workflow efficiency is further supported by features like continuous scanning and AI-assisted operation.
One standout feature is the optional finisher with an industry-first staple-free binding system.
This innovative mechanism uses moisture and pressure to bind up to 16 sheets at the corner or 12 sheets in two positions—ideal for eco-conscious businesses.
Additionally, the Pro C5400 Series introduces a faster envelope fusing option and a redesigned Vacuum Feed Large Capacity Input Tray (LCIT) for stable media transport, supporting duplex and long sheet printing with improved accuracy.
Sustainability also gets a boost: Ricoh reports a more than fivefold increase in the use of recycled materials compared to the previous generation.
“Greater production capacity and versatility is enabled by the new Pro C5400 Series, designed to help commercial and enterprise operations expand their capabilities,” said Eef de Ridder, Vice President of Ricoh Europe’s Graphic Communications Group.
The Pro C5400 Series will be commercially available across EMEA starting July and is priced competitively to align with the outgoing C5300 range.
