. By 2028, alcoholic beverage consumption is projected to reach 492.1 billion units.
FRANCE – Sidel has launched EvoFILL Can Compact, an advanced, space-efficient can filling system tailored for premium beverage producers, particularly those in the beer and carbonated soft drink (CSD) sectors.
Engineered for low-to-medium speed production (up to 40,000 cans per hour), this solution addresses the rising need for compact, flexible, and efficient filling technology in a rapidly diversifying beverage market.
The launch comes as global beverage volumes continue to climb. By 2028, alcoholic beverage consumption is projected to reach 492.1 billion units, while non-alcoholic beverage packaging is expected to hit 1.3 trillion units.
Amidst this growth, metal packaging remains a dominant choice due to its recyclability, convenience, and consumer preference for smaller, portable cans.
“Sidel’s EvoFILL Can Compact extends our trusted EvoFILL Can range by offering a more compact, efficient solution ideal for low-volume premium beverage production,” said Tommaso Tegoni, Product Manager – Filling at Sidel.
“Its modular design and ability to handle frequent changeovers with minimal downtime allow producers to meet evolving market needs with speed and precision—whether filling carbonated, still, or even hot-fill beverages.”
Compact ‘Plug and Play’ design
The EvoFILL Can Compact boasts a streamlined, plug-and-play design that simplifies installation and operation.
Its integrated architecture combines the seamer and process unit into a single, space-saving block, significantly reducing its footprint and improving total cost of ownership (TCO). This is particularly advantageous for producers operating in facilities with limited space.
Delivering high-precision performance, the machine ensures a standard deviation of just ±1ml (up to 500ml format) and less than 0.1% product loss.
It supports ambient filling for carbonated soft drinks with CO₂ losses kept at or below 0.2 Vol, while also accommodating hot-fill applications.
With a monoblock efficiency of 98.5%, EvoFILL Can Compact ensures optimal productivity and minimal downtime.
The system integrates electropneumatic technology and magnetic flowmeters for accurate liquid measurement, with electronically controlled pneumatic valves regulating the flow.
This combination ensures consistent fill levels, enhanced hygiene, and reduced waste—all essential for maintaining high product quality.
Seamless integration and faster changeovers
A key feature is its integrated seamer, mounted directly onto the filler frame. This setup allows immediate can sealing post-fill, enhancing hygiene and reducing handling time.
Changeovers take less than 25 minutes, thanks to an automatic height adjustment system for the filling carousel.
Additionally, the compact design incorporates an integrated enclosure and roof equipped with HEPA filters.
These are built directly into the machine frame, further reducing space requirements while ensuring hygienic conditions.
For cleaning, automatic dummy caps eliminate the need for manual intervention, supporting food safety and ease of maintenance.
With EvoFILL Can Compact, Sidel delivers a robust, compact, and flexible solution that empowers premium beverage producers to streamline their operations, boost quality, and stay ahead in a dynamic market.
