SunDance unveils innovative cube-shaped pouch packaging

The packaging is based on a low-density polyethylene that ensures flexibility and durability.

USA – A Southeastern U.S. company, SunDance, based in Orlando, Florida, has introduced a new cube-shaped pouch packaging called POUCH³, designed to reduce material usage by 30% compared to traditional stand-up pouches.

According to the company, this patent-pending packaging uses a single film process, incorporating low-density polyethylene for flexibility and durability while maximizing content volume by minimizing headspace.

The innovative design caters to a variety of products, from snacks to liquids, offering larger fill and access openings.

SunDance president JohnHenry Ruggieri said, “We are excited to be the first in Florida to offer this game-changing pouch.”

He highlighted that POUCH³’s box-like format allows for six-sided printing and efficient stackability, appealing to product marketers aiming to enhance shelf presence.

The packaging supports customization, including full-color digital printing with variable data and options for clear, white, or metalized films to adjust visibility, protection, or opacity.

Additional finishes like soft-touch laminate, spot UV, and foil accents are available to help brands stand out.

The production of POUCH³ relies on in-line equipment and operator training provided by Sun Centre, ensuring compatibility with eco-friendly films and recyclable foils.

This focus on sustainability complements SunDance’s reputation as Florida’s first offset Sustainable Green Printer, a certification earned for its environmental efforts.

The company, a leader in commercial printing and packaging, also manufactures custom flexible pouches, folding cartons, boxes, and labels.

In a related development, recent industry updates indicate growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions.

A report by a global packaging solutions provider noted that mono-material films, similar to those used in POUCH³, are gaining traction for their recyclability and reduced environmental impact.

These films, often made from polyethylene, are being adopted across the food and beverage sector, with manufacturers emphasizing compatibility with existing recycling systems to meet consumer and regulatory expectations.

SunDance’s launch of POUCH³ comes at a time when the packaging industry is prioritizing efficiency and sustainability.

The cube-shaped design not only reduces material waste but also offers practical benefits for storage and display, making it a versatile option for consumer-packaged goods.

With its Orlando facility driving innovation, SunDance continues to lead in providing tailored packaging solutions for businesses across various industries.
