Sunny Cooking Oil teams up with Appetite Creative for AI-powered connected packaging experience

UAE – Sunny, the UAE’s leading blended cooking oil brand owned by IFFCO, has launched an AI-driven interactive smart packaging experience in partnership with connected packaging specialist Appetite Creative.

Designed to simplify cooking and enhance user engagement, the new ‘Keep it Smart, Keep it Sunny’ campaign leverages technology to save time in the kitchen while promoting the benefits of quality cooking oil.

The web app-based connected experience, accessible via QR codes on three Sunny products—Everyday, Crunch Lite, and Sunflower—offers a range of interactive features, including games, daily cooking hacks, and personalized recipe suggestions.

Using AI to make life easier, the ‘My Fridge’ feature allows users to input available ingredients, generating unique recipe suggestions that maximize what’s already in their kitchen.

With unlimited recipe combinations, users never receive the same suggestion twice. Additionally, the ‘Daily Hacks’ section stores up to 50 recipes, encouraging frequent visits for fresh cooking inspiration.

Sunny’s smart packaging experience also introduces family-friendly games designed for fun and engagement.

Players can test their skills in games like ‘Sunny Pathway’, where they race to pour oil along a path, ‘Sunny Bottle Flip’, which challenges them to land a virtual Sunny Oil bottle upright, and ‘Sunny Wheel’, where they must connect rays of sunshine in a puzzle-style challenge.

A leaderboard ranks top players, and winners earn prizes and discount vouchers, driving repeat engagement. This gamified approach ensures that users return to the app, fostering a deeper connection with the brand.

Educating consumers on health and sustainability

Beyond entertainment, the connected experience educates consumers on Sunny cooking oil’s health benefits, unique blend of vitamins, and differentiating qualities from competitors.

It also highlights Sunny’s sustainability credentials, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to eco-friendly practices.

The web app tracks user interactions, collecting GDPR-compliant data on buying habits, product preferences, engagement time, scan rates, return users, and social media shares.

These insights allow Sunny to optimize marketing strategies and enhance customer understanding, ensuring a more personalized consumer experience.

The AI-powered smart packaging campaign will launch across the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Jordan, reinforcing Sunny’s commitment to innovation and customer-centric experiences.
