Swedish packaging firm introduces Fujifilm Digital Press

SWEDEN – Swedish packaging specialist Kartongbolaget has introduced a Fujifilm Jet Press 750S to its operations, following a purchase made at drupa 2024. 

Established in 1944, the company serves diverse clients, including established brands and emerging startups, with a team of 48 staff handling everything from initial proofs to customized short runs. 

This marks the firm’s initial partnership with Fujifilm, supported by local distributor Visutech, which managed the installation in December 2024.

Production commenced in January 2025, and the press has quickly transformed workflows. 

It eases demands on existing offset machines for smaller orders, enabling quicker responses to tight deadlines. 

Joakim Johansson, CEO of Kartongbolaget, noted that the equipment delivers noticeable gains in speed and adaptability. 

He said the technology allows the firm to handle urgent requests while maintaining high standards, benefiting startups through affordable low-volume prints that can expand as needed, and larger clients with rapid delivery of precise results.

The Jet Press 750S features a reliable sheet transport mechanism and enhanced machine reliability, leading to better operational availability than prior digital systems. 

Johansson highlighted that uptime improvements stand out as a key advancement. 

Color fidelity reaches 90% of the Pantone spectrum, permitting exact pre-run proofs that guarantee uniform output across jobs. 

For a company prioritizing environmental goals, the press aids zero-waste targets by minimizing excess materials in short production cycles. 

Johansson added that it strengthens communications with clients focused on green practices, as the system uses efficient processes to cut down on resource use without compromising performance.

Visutech’s engineers ensured a smooth rollout, drawing on their regional expertise in digital printing across the Nordics. 

Tommy Segelberg, Fujifilm’s segment manager for digital packaging and inkjet in EMEA, expressed satisfaction with the adoption. 

In a statement, he said Kartongbolaget’s integration shows the Jet Press 750S’s immediate value in real-world settings. 

The collaboration extends Fujifilm’s reach in Scandinavia, where demand for versatile packaging solutions grows amid shifting market needs.

Looking forward, Johansson indicated the Jet Press 750S will drive Kartongbolaget’s growth, facilitating streamlined scheduling and varied order handling. 

The firm anticipates deeper ties with Fujifilm for ongoing maintenance and enhancements, solidifying its role in regional supply chains.
