GDT aims to modernize its paper production line, improve formation uniformity, and meet rising market demands for premium-quality paper products.
VIETNAM – Voith, the global full-line supplier to the paper industry, has signed a rebuild agreement with GDT Paper Joint Stock Company in Vietnam for the installation of its state-of-the-art MasterJet 4Tec headbox technology.
The collaboration marks a significant step toward sustainable, high-performance paper production in Southeast Asia.
The MasterJet 4Tec, Voith’s fourth-generation headbox system, is engineered to deliver enhanced fiber formation, superior paper quality, and greater energy efficiency.
With this installation, GDT aims to modernize its paper production line, improve formation uniformity, and meet rising market demands for premium-quality paper products.
“This partnership with Voith and the implementation of the MasterJet 4Tec aligns perfectly with our vision to deliver the highest possible paper quality,” said Mr. Dinh Nhu Kien, Chairman of the Board of Directors at GDT.
“Our customers expect excellence, and this technology will help us exceed those expectations.”
Building on the proven performance of the MasterJet Pro, the 4Tec brings marked improvements in four critical areas: formation, pulsation damping, ease of operation, and energy savings.
The newly developed pulsation damper and EdgeMaster technology minimize turbulence and enable consistent jet quality, key for eliminating formation streaks and ensuring ideal fiber distribution across the sheet.
“With this order, Voith reinforces its position as a leading full-line supplier to the paper industry while deepening our strategic collaboration with GDT,” said Ronaldo Parucker, Senior Vice President Business Development SEA at Voith.
Hanson Zhao, Vice President Sales Asia, added, “The 4Tec with ModuleJet technology will significantly enhance formation at the headbox, resulting in a better-quality end product and more efficient operations.”
The MasterJet 4Tec also brings benefits in terms of user-friendliness and operational cleanliness, features increasingly important to mills looking to minimize downtime and environmental impact.
GDT’s decision to integrate this advanced system supports its broader sustainability goals and positions it as a regional leader in modern papermaking practices.
Voith’s partnership with GDT builds on a series of successful headbox and system installations worldwide, including recent projects in China, Indonesia, and India, where MasterJet 4Tec technology has already demonstrated measurable gains in production quality and energy consumption.
This latest installation underscores Voith’s commitment to innovation and sustainable development in the global paper industry, while helping GDT meet evolving market expectations with cutting-edge production capability.
