Hotpack validates 96% of packaging portfolio as environmentally friendly

The 97th-percentile global score demonstrates progress, said Hotpack founder/MD/group CEO Abdul Jebbar PB, sustainability is now integral to the company’s operations, innovation, and growth.

UAE – Hotpack has validated 96 percent of its product portfolio as environmentally friendly and recyclable, according to its 2025 sustainability report, while securing an EcoVadis Gold Medal with a score of 80 out of 100.

The Gold Medal places Hotpack among the top five percent of companies assessed by EcoVadis globally, providing independent recognition across environmental performance, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

The score positioned the company in the 97th percentile of businesses assessed worldwide. Abdul Jebbar PB, founder, managing director and group chief executive of Hotpack, said the report showed progress in making sustainability integral to how the company operated, innovated and grew.

He noted that responsible growth was not a separate initiative but increasingly embedded in decisions across product development, manufacturing, supply chain, people and communities.

Recycled-Content and Plant-Based Materials Expand Across Range

Hotpack has expanded its range of sustainable packaging solutions through recycled-content materials, plant-based packaging, biodegradable plastics and circular packaging design.

Its r-PET packaging range reportedly delivers a 30 to 40 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions compared with virgin PET through recycled content and circular design principles.

The company also developed its Eco Store as a dedicated platform offering customers access to more eco-conscious packaging alternatives.

Anwar PB, group chief technology officer and executive director at Hotpack Global, said the report was prepared in accordance with Global Reporting Initiative Standards, outlining performance across product innovation, resource efficiency, responsible sourcing, workplace practices, governance and community engagement.

Workforce Development and Safety Record Highlighted

The company employs more than 4,500 people representing over 33 nationalities and recorded zero workplace fatalities during 2025.

Employees received an average of 78 hours of training during the year, alongside programmes focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, employee wellbeing and career development.

Zainudeen PB, group chief operating officer and executive director, said that as Hotpack marked three decades in the packaging industry, the company continued expanding global manufacturing and distribution capabilities while investing in sustainable product development and operational improvement.

Beyond operations, Hotpack supported communities through Ramadan programmes involving more than 200 volunteers, distributing 60,000 Iftar meals and over 100,000 food packages with 12 partner organisations.

The company also continued initiatives supporting outdoor worker welfare, health and wellness, mangrove restoration and environmental awareness.
