AeroFlexx moves packaging filling operations into Texas plant

With an internal airframe providing rigidity and a flexible outer film, the package eliminates the conventional cap or closure in favour of a self-sealing valve.

USA – AeroFlexx has installed its filling equipment inside Consolidated Brands’ Highlands, Texas facility, placing production of its flexible liquid packaging format within an existing lubricant blending and packaging operation serving customers in more than 30 countries.

Rather than building standalone capacity, AeroFlexx has located its filling line within a site that already combines liquid blending, packaging, storage and distribution.

That arrangement lets automotive and industrial liquid brands manufacture the format through ZXP Technologies’ established operations, with the site supporting initial production and later volume increases without requiring separate warehousing or logistics infrastructure

Airframe Structure Holds Shape During Handling

The package relies on an internal airframe that keeps the structure rigid while the outer film remains flexible.

A self-sealing valve replaces the conventional cap or closure entirely.

Users dispense by squeezing, which avoids the glugging associated with rigid containers and supports one-handed operation, reduced dripping and better drainage of residual liquid.

Material content is lower than conventional rigid packaging, cutting plastic use per unit and reducing transport weight across distribution.

Valve Removal Cuts Component Count

Eliminating the separate closure removes a component that frequently separates from bottles during collection and sorting, where small caps are commonly lost or discarded.

Fewer components also simplify filling line changeovers and reduce inventory complexity for brands managing multiple pack formats.

Leadership Cites Manufacturing Scale and Market Entry

Andrew Meyer, chief executive of AeroFlexx, said the partnership and filling machine deployment represented an important step in expanding the company’s manufacturing footprint and bringing its packaging technology to a new market.

He added that ZXP Technologies brought manufacturing scale and lubricant expertise to support commercial growth, while AeroFlexx supplied a differentiated format designed for performance, ease of use and material efficiency.

Jennifer Straumins, chief executive of Consolidated Brands, said the company was proud to help advance packaging for the lubricants category as the first to bring AeroFlexx technology to that market.

She noted that listening closely to customers revealed a clear opportunity to introduce a solution rethinking the parameters of liquid packaging, combining convenience, performance and sustainability for industrial and automotive applications.
