With its move into flexible packaging adhesives, AMS Polymers enters a growing Indian market shaped by BASF, Henkel, 3M, and H.B. Fuller.

INDIA – AMS Polymers has expanded into the Indian flexible packaging adhesives market with solvent-based and solvent-free polyurethane adhesives for food, personal care, and pharmaceutical applications, as the company plans to add more reactors to meet growing customer demand.
The Hyderabad-based company, which has operated for approximately 30 years, traditionally supplied adhesives to footwear, rubber and textile industries before entering the flexible packaging sector around five to seven years ago.
Its product portfolio includes high-performance and medium-performance solvent-based grades, as well as general-performance and medium-performance solvent-free formulations for film-to-film and paper-to-film applications.
Satyendra Srivastava, sales head for adhesives flexible packaging at AMS Polymers, stated that the company will expand capacity soon by adding more reactors to serve more customers, following its participation at PackPlus India 2026 in Delhi.
India’s Growing Flexible Packaging Adhesives Market
India’s flexible packaging adhesive market is projected to grow at a 5.52 percent compound annual growth rate from 2025 to 2035, driven by increasing demand for packaged goods and the expansion of the food and beverage sector.
The market is experiencing a pronounced shift towards sustainability, with manufacturers developing water-based, solvent-free and bio-based adhesives to meet stricter environmental regulations.
AMS Polymers’ solvent-free formulations are designed to address environmental compliance concerns, particularly for converters exporting to markets where VOC regulations are tightening.
Product Portfolio and Application Range
The company’s adhesives are designed primarily for film-to-film and paper-to-film applications, serving converters producing multi-layer laminates for snacks, confectionery, beverages and personal care packaging.
The product range includes adhesives for retort, boil-in-bag, lidding films, metallized films and aluminum foil lamination.
The ability to laminate with substrates including BOPP, PET, nylon and foil makes the adhesives suitable for flexible packaging structures across food, pet food and non-food applications.
The entry into flexible packaging adhesives positions AMS Polymers to compete in India’s expanding packaging sector, where major players including BASF, Henkel, 3M and H.B. Fuller are actively shaping the market through strategic initiatives.
The company’s expansion aligns with the broader industry trend towards localized manufacturing and optimized supply chains to enhance responsiveness to market demands.
