REBHAN’s premium packaging know-how plus Indorama’s PET materials and support helps beauty brands deliver distinctive, sustainable designs to market.

THAILAND – Indorama Ventures and REBHAN FPS Kunststoff-Verpackungen have launched LUXYCLEAR EBM PET 5508, a new generation of PET packaging for premium beauty and personal care products that combines glass-like aesthetics with the lightweight, shatter-resistant properties of PET and is available with up to 100 percent chemically recycled content.
The collaboration, announced on 4 September 2026, brings together Indorama Ventures’ expertise in specialty PET materials and REBHAN’s packaging design and manufacturing capabilities.
Designed for extrusion blow molding, the specialty PET grade enables thick-wall cosmetic bottles with exceptional clarity and transparency, delivering an elegant, glass-like appearance while offering PET’s lightweight, durable and shatter-resistant benefits.
The product is now commercially available to beauty and personal care brands across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Versatile Feedstock Options for Sustainable Packaging
In addition to the conventional virgin PET grade, LUXYCLEAR EBM PET 5508 is also available in versions with up to 100% chemically recycled content or mass-balanced certified renewable feedstock, allowing brands to reduce reliance on virgin fossil resources while maintaining the same premium clarity, performance and product quality.
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, which has applied generally since 12 August 2026, is intended to make packaging placed on the EU market recyclable by 2030, making the availability of recycled-content options increasingly important for brands operating in European markets.
Industry Leaders Comment on Premium PET Packaging Solution
Dr. Patrick Amrhein, Business Director of Specialty Polymers at Indorama Ventures, stated that beauty brands should not have to choose between premium design, packaging performance and greater material choice, adding that by combining LUXYCLEAR EBM PET 5508 with REBHAN’s design and manufacturing expertise, the companies are giving brands a commercially practical route to create distinctive, glass-like PET packaging using conventional, chemically recycled or renewable-feedstock options.
Patrick Kohns, Head of Sales & Product Management at REBHAN, noted that in the beauty and personal care sectors, brands are increasingly turning to glass-like bottles because they combine the elegant look of glass with the functional advantages of PET, offering luxurious transparency, brilliant clarity and modern designs that immediately grab attention at the point of sale.
By combining REBHAN’s expertise in premium cosmetic packaging with Indorama Ventures’ specialty PET materials and technical support, beauty and personal care brands can transform their design and sustainability ambitions into distinctive, market-ready packaging solutions.
