Abbott Label joins Avery Dennison’s AD Link Partner Program to expand RFID capabilities

The partnership enables Abbott Label to expand its radio frequency identification offering.

USA – Abbott Label has joined the Avery Dennison AD Link Partner Program, strengthening its position in the fast-growing RFID and intelligent labeling segment.

The partnership connects the Dallas-based converter to Avery Dennison’s global network of technical resources, training platforms and industry expertise, enabling Abbott Label to accelerate deployment of advanced radio frequency identification (RFID) solutions across retail, logistics, healthcare, transportation and supply chain applications.

The AD Link Partner Program, developed by Avery Dennison’s Label and Packaging Materials division, is designed to equip converters with technical knowledge, application support and market access to scale RFID adoption.

The initiative provides partners with specialized training, product validation support and access to next-generation inlay technologies, helping converters move from traditional pressure-sensitive labels into intelligent labeling solutions.

For Abbott Label, the collaboration enhances its ability to meet rising demand for item-level traceability and inventory visibility, particularly as brands and retailers invest in digital supply chains.

The company operates a dedicated 15,000-square-foot RFID production facility in Nashville, Tennessee.

The plant is equipped with high-speed RFID printing and encoding systems, precision die-cutting and converting machinery, as well as advanced quality control and testing infrastructure.

Led by RFID industry veteran Mark Davenport, who brings more than 30 years of experience in the field, the facility supports both high-volume rollouts and custom-engineered projects.

RFID adoption has accelerated globally as retailers seek real-time inventory accuracy, shrink reduction and omnichannel integration.

Healthcare providers are also deploying RFID to improve asset tracking, patient safety and regulatory compliance, while logistics operators leverage the technology to enhance shipment visibility.

Avery Dennison has actively expanded its intelligent labels ecosystem in recent years, scaling production capacity for RFID inlays and launching sustainability-focused initiatives such as recyclable and lower-carbon footprint inlays.

Through the AD Link Partner Program, the company has worked with converters to broaden RFID conversion capabilities, shorten time to market and standardize quality across supply networks.

By aligning with AD Link, Abbott Label gains access to technical collaboration and innovation pipelines that support complex RFID deployments, including specialty adhesives, sensor-enabled labels and integrated digital identification platforms.

As intelligent packaging transitions from pilot projects to mainstream implementation, partnerships between material suppliers and converters are becoming central to scaling RFID infrastructure across North America and beyond, positioning Abbott Label to capitalize on the next phase of connected packaging growth.
