BRAZIL – Global packaging company Sonoco acquired 100% of Inapel Embalagens, a Brazilian manufacturer of materials for flexible packaging.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Inapel will now operate under Sonoco’s existing flexible packaging operation in Pinhais, Brazil.

The acquisition was completed by Graffo Paranaense de Embalagens, a subsidiary of Sonoco Products Company in Brazil, enhancing their capabilities to meet consumer demands.

Sonoco’s Graffo site, supporting rotogravure printing and lamination for eight years, will further expand its foil-based flexible packaging conversion.

Eduardo Nunes, Sonoco Flexibles’ managing director, will extend leadership duties to São Paulo locations, collaborating closely with Inapel’s former owners Rodrigo Alvarez and Monica Saniotto.

Nunes expressed satisfaction with Inapel joining Sonoco, complementing their long-term strategy. The acquisition aligns with Sonoco’s flexible packaging service expansion. Russell Grissett, Sonoco Global Flexibles president, highlighted Inapel’s technical capacity and shared values, aiming to grow a sustainable packaging portfolio.

Rodrigo Alvarez and Monica Saniotto will continue as strategic leaders, focusing on innovative packaging solutions in the region and globally.

Established in 1971, Inapel specializes in various packaging capabilities across two facilities in São Paulo, employing approximately 500 individuals.

All4Labels Group to acquire Uniflexo

All4Labels Global Packaging Group has declared its acquisition of Uniflexo, a Brazilian company specializing in pressure-sensitive labels, shrink sleeves, and booklet manufacturing. Specific financial details and terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

The completion of this transaction hinges on meeting customary closing conditions and securing regulatory approvals.

Paloma Alonso, All4Labels CEO, expressed determination to fortify their position in Brazil by partnering with industry leaders, envisioning synergies in their collaboration. She warmly welcomed the Uniflexo team into the fold.

This acquisition is anticipated to bolster All4Labels’ presence in the Latin American (LATAM) region. Guido Iannone, All4Labels MNC Executive Vice President and LATAM President, highlighted the potential for expanded production capacity, particularly in the Agrochemical, Personal Care, and Dairy segments.

He emphasized their commitment to setting new standards in versatility, quality, swift time-to-market, and production excellence through this partnership.

Headquartered in the western region of São Paulo, Uniflexo boasts over three decades of expertise in label conversion, serving diverse client segments.

With a focus on offering a broad spectrum of packaging decoration solutions, the company presently employs 135 individuals and serves more than 100 customers.

Flávio Couto Campagnola, a shareholder at Uniflexo, expressed pride in joining the All4Labels Group, emphasizing their dedication to innovation, digitalization, and sustainability.

Campagnola conveyed enthusiasm for this transformative phase, emphasizing their commitment to business expansion and advancement.

Following the deal’s finalization, Campagnola will continue managing Uniflexo’s ongoing operations, as stated by All4Labels.

This recent transaction follows All4Labels’ earlier announcement of acquiring Maxcor Indústria de Etiquetas, enhancing their presence in the Central America region.
