AeroFlexx partners with PLAFILM to deploy airframe liquid packaging across Colombia, Venezuela, Central America

The partnership merges AeroFlexx’s packaging and manufacturing capabilities across North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia with PLAFILM’s 25+ years of regional brand experience.

CENTRAL AMERICA – AeroFlexx has partnered with Plastic Films Internacional to expand its airframe liquid packaging technology across Colombia, Venezuela and Central America, combining the lightweight flexible pack’s self-sealing valve design with PLAFILM’s regional market reach and multinational customer relationships.

The partnership, announced on 3 August 2026, will focus on identifying applications where AeroFlexx can create measurable value across consumer experience, sustainability, supply chain performance, and total system economics.

The AeroFlexx technology is a lightweight flexible package designed to perform like a rigid bottle, featuring a patented airframe design that provides structure throughout use and an integrated self-sealing valve that enables controlled dispensing without a separate cap or pump.

The format reduces packaging components, improves transportation efficiency, and provides brands with a customizable platform for retail and e-commerce applications.

Airframe Technology and Self-Sealing Valve Design Drive Packaging Innovation

AeroFlexx’s proprietary airframe design gives the pack structure during use, while a built-in self-sealing valve allows controlled dispensing without the need for a separate cap or pump.

This integrated design reduces the number of packaging components, supports transport efficiency, and offers a customizable option for retail and e-commerce use.

The technology was selected as the 2026 recipient of the Steve Fairfield Memorial Award for Flexible Packaging Innovation.

At the outset, the partnership will focus on market development, project qualification and customer conversion, with the stated aim of supporting eligible customers in moving from assessment stages to commercial product launches.

Regional Expertise and Commercialisation Acceleration

Plafilm president David Harf stated that brand owners across the region are seeking packaging solutions that differentiate their products, improve performance, and advance sustainability without adding operational complexity.

By combining AeroFlexx’s packaging technology with Plafilm’s regional expertise, the companies can help customers identify the right applications and accelerate commercialisation.

AeroFlexx chief operating officer Boris Gavric noted that partnerships like this are essential in pushing industry innovation forward, enabling the company to engage more customers, move qualified opportunities from evaluation to commercial launch, and establish a foundation for long-term regional deployment and scale.

If the commercial pipeline progresses, AeroFlexx and Plafilm may consider further regional cooperation to support wider execution.

The partnership combines AeroFlexx’s integrated packaging and manufacturing capabilities in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia with PLAFILM’s more than 25 years of experience working with renowned brands across the region.
