UK – AM Labels has expanded its product portfolio with a new automatic packet-feeding labeling system, designed to streamline labeling for packets, pouches, cartons, and boxes.
When integrated with the LabelPack Label X JR wipe-on applicator, the system automates both packet feeding and label application in a single process, reducing manual handling and improving efficiency.
A standout feature of the system is its auto-gating mechanism, which enables the labeling of zip-locked pouches, enhancing its versatility across various packaging types.
Designed for industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods, the system boosts productivity, accuracy, and reliability in labeling operations.
Additional benefits include a large hopper infeed, variable speed control of up to 30 m/min, and quick-set hopper guides that minimize setup time when switching between materials.
The system’s compact footprint and customizable configurations make it adaptable to a wide range of applications.
At the core of this solution is the Label X JR label applicator, which supports labels up to 140mm wide and 350mm long and accommodates rolls with diameters of up to 300mm.
The applicator features automatic label recovery and a liner break alarm, ensuring operational accuracy and efficiency.
Tony Mariani, Managing Director at AM Labels, stated, “We’re excited to introduce our fully integrated, automatic packet-labeling solution, which offers businesses a compact, adaptable, and efficient way to improve labeling accuracy and speed.
“We also provide live demonstrations at our Technical Experience Centre, showcasing its capabilities to prospective customers.”
Herma launches new multi-layer adhesive for security labels
In related news, Herma has unveiled 63Spc, a new multi-layer adhesive designed to enhance security and tamper-evident labeling.
This innovation transforms conventional materials into highly secure labels, preventing unauthorized removal or tampering.
By transitioning from single-layer to multi-layer technology, 63Spc achieves higher internal strength, effectively eliminating adhesive bleeding and improving processing reliability.
Despite this strength, it retains high initial and final adhesion, ensuring labels remain securely affixed to a variety of surfaces, including lacquered pharmaceutical packaging, plastics, steel, paper, and cardboard.
Dr. Stefan Kissling, Head of Adhesive Development and Special Coatings at Herma, explained, “Multi-layer technology enables us to perfectly balance two seemingly contradictory needs—strong adhesion and easy processing.”
Compliant with EU Directive 2011/62/EU, which mandates tamper-evident labeling for prescription medicines, 63Spc is also an ideal solution for industries requiring security labels, such as automotive, electronics, and food sectors.
The adhesive offers exceptional resistance to water, hot air, and various solvents, ensuring durability against aging.
It is available with various paper and foil materials, with specialized security-enhanced papers available upon request.
