Amman’s new AVTR AI-powered recycling complaints system uses geolocation to route waste reports

The system’s integration of photos and geolocation data helps reduce field processing time and ensures accurate issue identification and resolution.

JORDAN – Amman Vision Treatment and Recycling has launched an AI-powered complaints system for Jordanians, using geolocation to route waste management reports directly to the responsible service provider for faster resolution and accountability.

Amjad Anasweh, AVTR’s CEO, stated that the platform is part of the company’s efforts to improve service quality by using AI to receive, analyze, and automatically route complaints to the relevant service provider, enabling faster response times and more efficient case management.

Jordanians can submit complaints through a dedicated hotline (0798600860), after which they receive an SMS containing a link to complete their report by uploading a photo and sharing the location of the issue.

The company noted that geolocation is essential for directing complaints to the service provider responsible for the relevant area of Amman, as the capital is divided among multiple service providers.

Complaint Channels and Performance Standards Drive Accountability

Complaints can also be submitted and tracked through the company’s online portal at complaints.avtr.jo, allowing users to monitor the status of their reports until they are resolved.

AVTR’s innovation roadmap includes citizen engagement platforms as a core technology pillar, using mobile apps and portals for reporting issues and joining recycling initiatives.

The company said all complaints will be handled under defined service standards and performance indicators, with service providers required to address reported issues within specified time-frames to improve accountability, transparency, and service delivery.

Anasweh emphasized that the AI system contributes to faster receipt, analysis, and automatic routing of reports to the responsible entity, ensuring rapid response and efficient processing.

AI Technology and Geolocation Enhance Waste Management Efficiency in Amman

The AI-powered system represents a significant advancement in Jordan’s waste management infrastructure, replacing manual complaint handling processes that previously delayed response times and hindered efficient resource allocation.

By automatically analyzing complaint data and identifying patterns in waste-related issues, the platform enables AVTR to proactively address recurring problems in specific neighbourhoods, optimizing collection routes and improving overall service quality.

The system also generates valuable data insights that help the company monitor service provider performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement targeted improvements across Amman’s diverse districts.

The complaint tracking feature provides citizens with full visibility into the status of their reports, fostering trust and encouraging greater public participation in maintaining clean and sustainable communities.

As AVTR continues to expand its digital services, the AI platform serves as a model for other municipalities in the region seeking to modernize their waste management operations and enhance citizen engagement through technology-driven solutions.
