Aptar launches lidless inverted closures with SimpliSqueeze valve for beauty, personal care

The lidless inverted design reduces steps, which matters for users with limited hand strength, parents managing a wiggling child, or salon professionals using products dozens of times per day.

USA – AptarGroup has launched a new line of inverted lidless dispensing closures for beauty and personal care, using its patented SimpliSqueeze flow control valve to enable single-handed, contact-free dispensing that reduces messes, drips, and product waste across baby soaps, lotions, and professional hair care.

The inverted, ready-to-dispense format eliminates the need for traditional separate lids.

The valve opens only under pressure and closes immediately upon release, preventing foreign particle ingress and ensuring a clean cutoff.

The inverted design means product is always at the nozzle, removing the need to shake or squeeze the bottle to bring product to the opening.

Why Lidless Matters

Traditional closures with caps require two hands: one to hold the bottle, one to flip or unscrew the lid. Users then squeeze, recap, and sometimes wipe residual product from the nozzle.

The lidless inverted design reduces steps, which matters for users with limited hand strength, parents managing a wiggling child, or salon professionals using products dozens of times per day.

The clean cutoff reduces product waste, as no residual liquid drips onto the bottle surface or countertop.

A Material and Logistical Advantage

Eliminating the separate lid reduces material consumption per unit, plastic that is not moulded is plastic that is not shipped. For brands, the lidless design simplifies assembly lines: one component instead of two.

For e-commerce, fewer parts reduce the risk of caps coming loose during transit.

Hedi Tlili, president of Aptar Closures, explained that by combining the patented SimpliSqueeze valve technology with an inverted, lidless design, the company is helping beauty and personal care brands deliver cleaner, more intuitive, and more accessible dispensing solutions.

Real-World Rollout

The inverted closures are already appearing on shelves within a pet care shampoo line, with further rollouts scheduled for home and hair care markets.

The pet care application is instructive: pet owners often wash animals with one hand while restraining them with the other.

A closure that requires only one hand and does not drip on the floor solves a real-world problem that a standard cap cannot.

When Less Is More

No cap to lose, no drip to wipe, no second hand required.

Aptar’s lidless closure simplifies dispensing to its essential function: product out, cleanly, every time. For brands competing on user experience, that simplicity is the selling point.
