Each bottle was made with over 60%* recycled glass cullet, reflecting both companies’ shared commitment to sustainability.

SWEDEN – Ardagh Glass Packaging-Europe has teamed up with design agency Pearlfisher and The Absolut Company International to produce the Absolut Haring bottle, a limited-edition design drawing from Keith Haring’s 1986 artwork that incorporated the Absolut vodka bottle.
Manufactured at the company’s plant in Limmared, Sweden, the bottle incorporates more than 60% recycled glass cullet, supporting resource efficiency in production.
The design includes debossed dancing figures around the body, paired with a screen-printed yellow panel.
When observed through the clear glass, this setup generates a reflective illusion making the entire bottle appear yellow.
Production required precise techniques to ensure the debossing maintained consistent depth and width across the curved surface, while aligning it exactly with the printed elements for a seamless finish.
In a statement, John Oczabruk, product designer at Ardagh Glass Packaging-Europe, noted that the project shows the integration of art and manufacturing in glass.
He explained that replicating the artwork via debossing needed high precision for uniform results, and coordinating it with screen printing delivered the intended visual effect.
This release follows Absolut’s ongoing efforts with Ardagh to raise recycled content in bottles.
For instance, the earlier Absolut Voices edition used 80% recycled glass, aided by Sweden’s strong collection systems providing ample cullet.
Adding to these advancements, recent industry updates highlight further progress in recycled glass adoption.
In August 2025, Verallia introduced packaging made from 100% post-consumer recycled glass, aiming to cut environmental impact across its operations.
Similarly, Visy in New Zealand reached an average of 70% recycled content in its bottles and jars by April 2025, as the sole local producer there.
Such steps indicate broader shifts toward higher cullet use in glass packaging worldwide.
The Absolut Haring bottle is available in select markets, emphasizing durable, recyclable materials in premium spirits packaging.
This approach maintains bottle integrity while incorporating post-consumer content, available in standard sizes for distribution.
