Aren Graphic Solutions installs Cartes label printing, embellishment equipment in Dubai

Aren’s installation of Cartes equipment positions it to capture work that previously would have been printed in Europe or Turkey, reducing lead times for regional brands.

UAE – Aren Graphic Solutions has installed Cartes label printing, embellishment, and converting equipment at its UAE facility, enabling the company to expand its work in premium label applications for Middle East and overseas clients.

The project was supported by Wassim Khatib of Packmind, Cartes’ representative in Dubai.

Khatib commented that the Middle East market is showing increasing interest in advanced label technologies, and Cartes solutions represent a strong opportunity for converters who want to combine quality, flexibility, and innovation.

Aren Graphic Solutions is linked to Quadriga USA and is part of an international network centred on label production, serving brands and printing professionals with technical solutions.

Premium Labels: Beyond the Barcode

Premium labels are used on luxury goods, high-end cosmetics, craft beverages, and specialty foods where the label is part of the brand experience.

Unlike commodity labels that need only to be readable and scannable, premium labels require specialty finishes: embossing (raised textures), debossing (recessed textures), hot foil stamping (metallic effects), cold foil (fine metallic details), screen printing (thick, tactile ink layers), and spot varnishes (selective gloss or matte finishes).

Cartes equipment is designed to apply these effects in registration with the printed image. For a perfume brand, a hot foil-stamped logo on a clear film label is not a manufacturing step, it is a value add.

The Middle East Label Market

The Middle East label market has grown as international brands have expanded into the region and as local brands have professionalised their packaging.

Dubai’s position as a logistics hub means that labels printed in the UAE can serve customers across the Gulf, Africa, and South Asia.

Aren’s installation of Cartes equipment positions it to capture work that previously would have been printed in Europe or Turkey, reducing lead times for regional brands.

Carlo Stefano Lodi, Cartes production manager, stated that Dubai is an important and dynamic market, and that Cartes is proud that its technology has been chosen to support the growth of a company connected to an international group such as Quadriga USA.

Efficiency and Flexibility

The Cartes system is expected to support Aren in producing more complex label printing, embellishment, and converting work, while improving flexibility and efficiency in manufacturing.

For a label converter, flexibility means being able to switch between a short run of foiled wine labels and a long run of laminated cosmetic labels without hours of changeover downtime.

Efficiency means that the embellishment steps do not become the bottleneck that slows the entire production line.

The installation adds to Cartes’ presence in international markets and marks a further development of its activity with label converters focused on premium and high-output production.
