BRAZIL – Aluminium packaging leader Ball Corporation has partnered with Açaí Motion, a Brazilian brand of natural energy drinks, to unveil a new line of sustainable aluminium cans certified by the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI)—marking a milestone in eco-conscious beverage packaging.
The ASI certification guarantees that environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards are upheld across the entire value chain—from bauxite mining to can manufacturing.
This move provides greater transparency and accountability in sourcing and production, meeting a growing consumer demand for sustainable packaging solutions.
Designed with Ball’s proprietary internal coating technology, the new cans preserve the flavour integrity and nutritional value of Açaí Motion’s beverage while significantly extending shelf life.
This not only ensures product quality but also reduces food waste and energy use throughout distribution.

The launch is particularly significant in Brazil, one of the world’s largest aluminium recycling markets, where aluminium cans boast a recycling rate above 98%.
The partnership reinforces this circularity by offering a closed-loop solution that minimizes environmental impact.
Açaí Motion’s energy drink, made from sustainably sourced açaí and guarana, is already available in over 60 international markets.
The drink is free from taurine and features low sugar content, appealing to health-conscious consumers seeking clean energy alternatives.
