GERMANY – Tipa Compostable Packaging, a fully compostable flexible packaging solutions manufacturer has acquired European compostable packaging company Bio4Pack for US$8 million.
Following this transaction, Bio4Pack will work under the leadership of TIPA to create a comprehensive compostable packaging portfolio, meeting the ever-growing interest for truly circular packaging solutions on the market.
TIPA’s compostable packaging solutions are capable of turning into compost within a few months, contributing to a fully circular economy.
In addition to the wide range of products on offer, customers can now purchase three new products from TIPA: paper packaging from agricultural waste, trays and nets.
The acquisition of Bio4Pack will also benefit customers with additional sales representatives in the Netherlands and Germany and local warehousing facilities.
The acquisition aligns with TIPA’s strategy of collaborating with industry leaders, expanding both geographically and in product portfolio and promoting sustainable solutions to combat the global plastic crisis.
TIPA CEO and co-founder Daphna Nissenbaum said: “There is a great value and strength in cooperating with other players in the sustainable packaging solutions industry.
“The acquisition of Bio4Pack enables us to expand our existing expertise and portfolio and continue to grow TIPA’s custom packaging solutions.”
The acquisition is expected to further contribute to TIPA’s business expansion strategy of partnering with various industry leaders.
TIPA also intends to expand its product portfolio and promote the wide use of sustainable solutions to counter the emerging global plastic issue.
Bio4Pack CEO Patrick Gerritsen said: “It is an honor to be acquired by TIPA, as this company is well-known throughout Europe – and around the world – for their innovative packaging.
“With both companies’ extensive experience in this field, I am confident we will be able to significantly reduce plastic pollution on Earth.”
TIPA packaging mimics the high-end properties of conventional plastic packaging such as strength, machinability, transparency and shelf life – but leaves zero waste behind, just like any other organic waste.
Its packaging solutions for the entire supply chain include films and laminates for packaging manufacturers and custom packaging applications for food and fashion brands.
Meanwhile, in the past 15 years, Bio4Pack has grown to be an industry leader in the field of compostable packaging.
It has been developing and manufacturing packaging that meets consumers’ and producers’ desire to reduce harmful plastic packaging waste. This has resulted in a complete range of compostable packaging that meets a variety of stringent standards.
