Dow partners with Brivaplast, TecnoGi to drive circularity in luxury packaging

ITALY – Dow has partnered with Brivaplast and TecnoGi to advance circularity by repurposing imperfect perfume caps into high-end components for luxury footwear and leather goods.

The collaboration aims to extend the life cycle of premium materials while reducing industrial waste.

Under the collaboration, Dow will supply SURLYN resin to Brivaplast, a leading cosmetic packaging manufacturer that produces gem-like perfume caps for luxury fragrance brands.

Due to strict quality standards, some caps do not meet the required specifications, leading to manufacturing waste, notes the companies.

Rather than discarding these imperfect pieces, TecnoGi will reprocess them for use in high-end fashion accessories, demonstrating the potential of cross-industry material reuse.

By repurposing post-industrial scrap, the three companies seek to reduce waste, enhance material efficiency, and promote sustainability within the luxury sector.

This initiative also highlights the value of collaboration across the materials value chain, reinforcing the need for innovative recycling solutions in premium goods manufacturing.

“Our collaboration with Brivaplast and TecnoGi comes at a time when demand for sustainable materials and packaging solutions continues to grow,” said Imran Munshi, Global Consumer Market Segment Leader at Dow.

“We’re proud to demonstrate how working together across the value chain can keep valuable materials in circulation for longer.”

Dow’s sustainable innovations in packaging

Beyond luxury goods, Dow continues to drive sustainability in pharmaceutical packaging. Last December, LOG Pharma Primary Packaging launched a barrier bottle line powered by Dow’s HEALTH+ resins, which reduce bottle weight by up to 30% while maintaining essential moisture and oxygen protection.

This innovation aims to lower production costs, enhance gas barrier properties, and ensure optimal drug protection.

“The new Eco Line product family underscores our commitment to sustainable, eco-friendly barrier bottles at competitive prices,” said Shaul Bassi, CEO of LOG Pharma.

Dow’s ongoing efforts in material circularity and sustainable packaging reflect its broader mission to support cross-industry sustainability initiatives.

Whether through luxury accessories or pharmaceutical packaging, the company continues to pioneer eco-conscious solutions that reduce waste while maintaining high-performance standards.
