Drinktec 2025: Sidel unveils laser blowing technology, new era for packaging

The company will also showcase new solutions to meet sustainability goals, reduce material and consumption costs and enhance brand image.

GERMANY — Global packaging solutions provider Sidel is set to make waves at Drinktec 2025, unveiling what it calls a “new era for packaging.”

At the ‘world’s leading’ trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry, taking place in Munich from September 15–19, Sidel will debut the world’s first laser technology for bottle blowing, alongside a portfolio of innovations in PET, can, and glass packaging.

According to Sidel President and CEO Pietro Cassani, the showcase marks more than an incremental step forward.

“This is not merely a time of incremental change, but a key shift in the industry, with our laser innovation unlocking new possibilities. We invite all visitors to experience these technologies firsthand and meet the experts behind the designs,” Cassani said.

A milestone for packaging innovation

Visitors to Sidel’s booth will follow an immersive, customer-centric journey – from packaging design to production lines and performance services.

At its core is the laser-blowing breakthrough, a technology that promises greater line efficiency, energy savings, and superior bottle quality, while simplifying operations.

Industry analysts say such a leap could reshape cost structures and sustainability benchmarks across beverage and personal care packaging.

The industry is under mounting pressure to align with the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and global sustainability targets.

At Drinktec, Sidel will highlight solutions such as lightweight bottles, 100% rPET applications, returnable complete lines, and partial-label designs.

Notably, the company will demonstrate how a lighter bottle can also be stronger, a concept expected to attract attention from brand owners balancing cost, sustainability, and performance.

Next-level aseptic and complete line solutions

Sidel, a leader in aseptic filling, will also present advancements in digital intelligence for sensitive products, aimed at boosting food safety while enhancing flexibility and productivity.

In addition, the company will unveil its Next Line concept for PET and rPET, designed to maximize output while minimizing resource consumption.

Innovations in can and glass lines will further showcase how Sidel is driving efficiency and sustainability across multiple packaging formats.

Beyond equipment, Sidel will spotlight its integrated services portfolio, combining packaging know-how with digital tools to ensure long-term performance across the lifecycle of customer assets.

With global beverage demand projected to rise steadily in the next decade, Sidel’s unveiling at Drinktec positions it at the forefront of shaping packaging’s sustainable and high-performance future.
