Dunapack Packaging’s acquisition of El Pack’s Greek corrugated operations adds three sites

GREECE – Dunapack Packaging Hellas has agreed to acquire El Pack’s corrugated packaging operations in Greece, including three sites in Patras, Kapandriti and Thiva, adding approximately 250 employees to the Prinzhorn Group subsidiary’s regional network.

The acquisition, announced on 28 July 2026, combines El Pack’s local expertise with Dunapack Packaging’s regional network and integrated business model to serve customers across Greece and neighbouring markets. 

The three facilities will expand Dunapack’s footprint in the Greek corrugated packaging sector, where demand for sustainable and customized packaging solutions continues to grow across food, beverage, industrial and e-commerce segments. 

Strategic Expansion in the Greek Corrugated Packaging Market

The acquisition strengthens Dunapack’s position in the Hellenic packaging industry, with El Pack’s operations in Patras, Kapandriti and Thiva providing the company with additional production capacity and a broader geographic presence across Greece. 

Dunapack Packaging Hellas, a subsidiary of the Prinzhorn Group, views the integration of El Pack’s assets as a strategic move to enhance its service capabilities and offer customers a wider range of corrugated packaging solutions. 

The combined operations will leverage Dunapack’s integrated business model and regional network to serve customers across Greece and neighbouring markets, including the Balkans and Southeast Europe. 

The deal aligns with Prinzhorn Group’s long-term strategy to strengthen its position as a leading European packaging provider through targeted acquisitions that complement its existing operations and expand its market reach.

Regulatory Approval and Employee Integration

The deal remains subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the second half of 2026. 

Upon completion, Dunapack Packaging Hellas expects to welcome approximately 250 employees from El Pack into the organisation, preserving local employment while integrating the workforce into the Prinzhorn Group’s broader operations. 

The acquisition follows Dunapack’s established pattern of strategic growth in the European corrugated packaging sector, where the company has expanded its footprint through targeted acquisitions and organic investments across multiple markets. 

The integration process will focus on combining operational expertise, sharing best practices, and leveraging the combined scale to deliver enhanced value to customers while maintaining service continuity during the transition.
