JAPAN – Epson has introduced the ColorWorks CW-C8000, an on-demand colour inkjet label printer engineered for mid- to high-volume production in dynamic environments.

This advanced printer combines exceptional quality, high performance, and rapid printing speeds with cutting-edge connectivity features.

The ColorWorks CW-C8000 is designed to meet various industries’ demanding label production needs, including prime and boutique markets, product identification, and warehousing and logistics. It utilizes PrecisionCore heat-free technology and can print multiple labels with variable data at speeds of up to 12 inches per second.

The permanent printhead reduces the need for frequent interventions, thereby lowering maintenance costs.

Durable UltraChrome DL pigment inks ensure that labels are resistant to smudging, smearing, and fading, with options for both gloss and matte black ink.

The printer’s new high-capacity ink packs minimize interventions and offer a low cost per millilitre, reducing consumable waste.

Advanced connectivity options, including cloud printing and optional Wi-Fi, maximize workflow efficiency. Epson’s Cloud Solution Port 2 also provides remote management capabilities, further enhancing operational flexibility.

“Color labelling is being adopted across various applications to improve efficiency, quality, and customization,” said Stevi Sterns, Product Manager at Epson America.

“The new ColorWorks CW-C8000 enables companies to eliminate multi-step printing processes and the need for pre-printed colour label rolls, allowing them to produce high-quality labels in real-time.”

In March, Epson launched Label Boost software, transforming black-and-white shipping labels into full-colour marketing tools by adding eye-catching ads, coupons, special promotions, and QR codes.

Label Boost is designed to help businesses elevate their marketing efforts by incorporating vibrant, full-colour elements into shipping labels, thus enhancing brand visibility and customer engagement.

Label Boost also streamlines processes for warehouse teams by integrating secondary labels and highlighting critical information on shipping labels.

Available through authorized ColorWorks partners, Label Boost can be purchased as standalone software with a one-time license or bundled with the ColorWorks C6000P color inkjet label printer, which features peel-and-present functionality.

“Black-and-white shipping labels have been the standard since the birth of e-commerce. The next evolution in shipping labels will make better use of packaging real estate, transforming labels into dynamic marketing tools that captivate customers’ attention and elevate brand visibility,” said Tessa Kohl, Product Manager of DX Solutions at Epson America.

Label Boost is ideal for retailers and manufacturers looking to enhance engagement with eye-catching ads, coupons, and QR codes, all without the added cost or complexity of including separate marketing inserts or secondary labels.

It also helps logistics and warehouse teams improve shipping accuracy, streamline operations, and reduce material costs associated with regulatory labelling and the labour involved in adding coupons and flyers.
