Dubai’s strategic hub location and business-friendly free zones make it a prime testbed for advanced tech and customized solutions in the MEA region.

UAE — Flex-Europa welcomed converters, brand owners, and industry stakeholders to its Innovation Center in Dubai Production City in November, hosting a hands-on open house focused on the latest advancements in digital label production.
The event allowed visitors to explore live demonstrations of high-performance printing and finishing systems driving the region’s rapidly evolving label and packaging sector.
Although the Innovation Center houses a broad portfolio of Flex-Europa technologies, this edition spotlighted three key systems: Epson’s SurePress L-6534VW, SurePress L-4733AW, and the DPR TAURUS digital laser finisher.
Each technology showcased the growing importance of speed, precision, flexibility, and sustainability in modern label workflows.
The Epson SurePress L-6534VW, a high-speed UV digital inkjet press capable of delivering up to 50 metres per minute, drew significant interest for its ability to produce sharp detail and vibrant, consistent colours across industrial applications.
Its high-opacity White ink offers screen-like performance on clear, metallic, and coloured substrates, while durable UV-curable inks meet marine and food-contact compliance standards.
Designed for both long and short runs, the L-6534VW supports variable data printing and a wide range of materials, positioning it as a dependable solution for demanding environments.
Also featured was the Epson SurePress L-4733AW, which uses water-based inks and Epson’s Variable Sized Droplet Technology to achieve smooth gradations, accurate brand colours, and clean reproduction on paper and film.
Its expanded ink set, CMYK, White, Orange, Green, enables greater colour matching capabilities, while its streamlined setup and low maintenance support converters seeking efficiency and premium short-run production.
Rounding out the demonstrations, the DPR TAURUS laser finisher showcased a tool-free approach to post-press with its Galvo-powered CO₂ laser and 3-axis scanning system.
Designed for fast, precise cutting, kiss-cutting, slitting, and perforating, Taurus eliminates traditional die-making costs while maintaining excellent edge quality.
Features such as automatic ultrasonic tension control, optional laminating, and built-in remote diagnostics highlighted its role in modernizing finishing workflows.
Flex-Europa said the open house reflects its mission to accelerate digital transformation across the Middle East label and packaging industry.
By offering access to fully operational equipment, expert technical guidance, and workflow optimization support, the Innovation Center enables businesses to evaluate scalable digital solutions in a real-world environment.
As converters seek shorter lead times, higher quality, and operational agility, the facility strengthens Flex-Europa’s role as a partner for next-generation digital adoption, helping regional producers remain competitive in a rapidly advancing global market.
