CANADA – Flint Group, a global manufacturer of inks and coatings for the printing and packaging industries, has strengthened its footprint in Canada with the launch of a new distribution centre in Montreal, Québec.
The facility is set to enhance service for label and narrow web customers across Eastern Canada.
Effective immediately, the Montreal site will store and distribute Flint Group’s full range of water-based, UV-curable, and UV LED dual-curing inks and coatings specifically designed for narrow web applications.
Previously, customers in Québec relied on Flint Group’s Toronto location for supply. The new distribution centre shortens delivery times and doubles the company’s reach across Eastern Canada, providing faster and more reliable access to key products.
“This expansion underscores Flint Group’s commitment to providing enhanced local service and support for customers in the Montreal and Québec region,” said Nicki Kerrigan, Vice President of Sales and Service, North America.
“The new facility will ensure customers benefit from reduced delivery times and easier access to high-quality inks and coatings – reinforcing our vision of bringing colour to the world by positioning our products closer to the printers and converters who use them.”
The Montreal expansion follows Flint Group’s significant environmental achievement. The company recently earned B grades in Climate Change and Water Security disclosures from CDP, a global non-profit that assesses corporate ecological transparency.
CDP’s scoring scale—from D- to A—recognizes companies actively managing their environmental impact.
Flint Group’s B rating reflects strong environmental management practices.
The company achieved even higher scores in specific environmental categories, reflecting its robust sustainability practices.
It received an A grade for Scope 1 and 2 emissions, demonstrating effective management of direct and indirect emissions from its operations, which use purchased energy.
Flint Group also earned an A for Business Water Impacts, highlighting its responsible approach to water usage and its efforts to minimise water-related risks across its operations.
Additionally, the company secured an A- grade for Scope 3 emissions and Water Policy, acknowledging its progress in managing emissions across its value chain and implementing comprehensive water stewardship policies.
“Our positive rating is a testament to the work of our global team in minimizing our environmental footprint and conserving water resources,” said Matthew Rowland-Jones, Sustainability Officer at Flint Group.
“It also highlights our commitment to transparent reporting and environmental stewardship, which is vital as we pursue our 2030 environmental goals.”
These goals, validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), reflect Flint Group’s commitment to aligning its sustainability strategy with globally recognized climate standards.
The company has pledged to reduce its Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 46%, which encompass direct emissions, emissions from purchased energy, and those across its value chain.
In addition to its climate targets, Flint Group aims to reduce its environmental impact on water resources.
As part of its 2030 sustainability roadmap, the company is working towards a 5% reduction in overall water usage, reinforcing its dedication to responsible water management and conservation.
Holistic sustainability with PRISM
The company’s sustainability strategy, known as the PRISM framework, embeds environmental responsibility into all aspects of its business—People, Products, and the Planet.
This approach reflects Flint Group’s core values and strengthens its position as a leader in responsible manufacturing and packaging innovation.
“Our overall B rating shows our commitment to reducing our impact in these critical areas,” Rowland-Jones added.
“It demonstrates that we are a partner of choice, helping to deliver a more sustainable future.”
By participating in CDP’s disclosure process, Flint Group joins a growing community of companies worldwide committed to transparency, environmental action, and long-term sustainability in the packaging supply chain.
