Operating an ISO 9001 certified facility in Fishers, Indiana, EMP is dedicated to quality, reliable delivery, and full in-house services.

USA — Inovar Packaging Group has strengthened its position in the U.S. labelling market with the acquisition of Enterprise Marking Products (EMP), a long-standing flexographic label manufacturer based in Fishers, Indiana.
The move marks the latest step in Inovar’s aggressive expansion strategy, further broadening its industrial capabilities and deepening its presence across the Midwest.
Founded in 1989 by Chris and Carol Fread, EMP produces pressure-sensitive and nonadhesive labels used widely in industrial and container applications, including drums, pails, and intermediate bulk containers.
The company also supplies solutions for food and beverage, consumer durable goods, and other high-demand sectors.
Operating from an ISO 9001-certified facility, EMP provides custom labels, barcodes, and thermal transfer products to a loyal base of regional blue-chip customers.
After more than three decades leading the business, founder Chris Fread expressed confidence in the transition, noting he was assured of “the company’s future with Inovar.”
Jeff Brezek, CEO of Inovar, said the acquisition aligns with the group’s priorities of expanding technical capabilities and strengthening customer-focused service.
“The addition of Enterprise Marking Products expands our flexographic platform, deepens our presence in the Midwest, and strengthens our ability to deliver high-performance labelling solutions across multiple end markets,” he said.
Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Inovar now operates 13 sites across the U.S., offering labels, shrink sleeves, extended-content formats, and a growing range of specialty solutions.
EMP will continue to focus on durable custom labels designed for harsh industrial environments.
The deal follows another significant acquisition earlier this year: In April, Inovar acquired ModTek, a Pennsauken Township, New Jersey-based manufacturer specializing in pressure-sensitive and extended-content labels.
ModTek serves diverse markets, including food, craft beer, wine, spirits, and consumer durables. The company’s advanced printing technologies, along with expertise in embellishments such as hot stamping and embossing, add depth to Inovar’s capabilities.
ModTek founder Shawn Borman, who launched the company in 2006 and became sole owner in 2019, will continue to lead the business.
“ModTek and Inovar share deep alignment in what is core to our ongoing success,” Borman said.
“I’m really looking forward to all the success and value our combined companies will be able to achieve.”
The acquisition marked Inovar’s 11th strategic deal, bolstering its presence in the Northeast and expanding production and distribution capacities. Brezek said the company remains committed to pursuing acquisitions that open new markets and enhance innovation.
The latest move signals Inovar’s continued ambition to become one of the most comprehensive labelling solutions providers in the U.S.
