Jet Technologies accelerates Southeast Asia expansion as printers embrace modernization

Jet iQ finishing range is also said to have been met with strong demand across the region.

ASIA – Jet Technologies is fast-tracking its expansion across Southeast Asia, capitalizing on a surge in demand for modern printing and finishing technologies as the region’s packaging and label industry undergoes a significant transformation.

The Sydney-based company, which has operated in Indonesia for over a decade and has an expanding footprint in Vietnam, is now intensifying its efforts to support printers shifting from labour-intensive processes to advanced, automated systems.

This move comes as regional converters seek greater productivity, design flexibility, and cost-efficiency in a highly competitive market.

“Printers in this region are hungry for innovation and eager to adopt technology that allows them to work smarter, not harder,” said Jack Malki, Director at Jet Technologies.

“We’re seeing strong interest in solutions that enhance both efficiency and creativity, especially in digital embellishment and automated finishing.”

One of Jet’s most in-demand offerings is the Versatex Print Bar, a digital embellishment solution designed to replace traditional screen printing.

It enables high-impact decorative effects with faster turnaround times and lower operational complexity, helping printers stand out in an increasingly crowded marketplace.

Also gaining traction is the Jet iQ finishing range, which includes modular systems for slitting, rewinding, inspection, shrink sleeving, and digital finishing.

These scalable solutions are designed to grow with customers’ needs, with several installations already scheduled across Southeast Asia in 2025.

Jet Technologies has also invested in infrastructure to accelerate adoption, establishing demonstration centers in both Indonesia and Australia.

These hubs give printers hands-on access to cutting-edge equipment, helping them explore the right solutions for their operations.

While sustainability is an emerging consideration, particularly among printers serving multinational brands, Jet Technologies notes that speed, quality, and affordability remain key purchasing drivers.

Still, environmentally friendly innovations such as LED-UV curing and material down-gauging are gaining momentum, offering a balance between sustainability and performance.

The company’s expansion aligns with broader trends in the region. According to the Asian Packaging Federation, Southeast Asia’s printing and packaging sector is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 6% through 2027, driven by urbanization, e-commerce, and rising consumer expectations.

“The pace of change in Southeast Asia has really accelerated over the last few years,” Malki added.

“We’re inspired by the ambition of our clients and committed to giving them the tools, training, and local support they need to thrive in a new era of printing.”
