SOUTH AFRICA – JSE-listed Mpact has appointed Hannes Snyman as the group’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and executive director of Mpact and Mpact Operations, effective June 1.
Snyman will succeed Brett Clark, who is retiring on May 31.
The board expressed deep gratitude to Brett Clark for his significant contributions to Mpact since joining the company in 2012. Clark’s leadership and financial acumen have been instrumental in Mpact’s growth and success over the past decade.
Hannes Snyman, a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA), holds an MBA (with distinction) from Warwick Business School in the UK and a Bachelor of Accountancy Honours degree from Stellenbosch University.
Snyman’s extensive experience with Mpact dates back to May 2014, when he served as group corporate finance manager until December 2021.
In this role, he was crucial in arranging and implementing the group’s bank funding, share buyback, broad-based black economic empowerment restructuring, and various acquisitions and disposals.
During his tenure, Snyman contributed significantly to Mpact’s strategic planning and was involved in several major capital projects.
Since January 2022, Snyman has served as the divisional commercial manager for Mpact Recycling and executive director of Recycling Consolidated Holdings, a group subsidiary.
His diverse experience within the company positions him well to take on the CFO role and continue driving Mpact’s financial strategy and growth.
This leadership change coincides with Mpact’s recent opening of a new erecting center and warehouse in Limpopo Province.
This strategic expansion aims to enhance the company’s logistics and service capabilities in the region. The new facility, a significant investment, will serve as a hub for Mpact’s operations, providing improved storage and distribution capabilities for its diverse range of packaging products.
The erecting center will focus on assembling and preparing packaging materials for delivery, ensuring that products are ready for immediate use by customers.
“We are excited about opening our new erecting center and warehouse in Limpopo,” said Bruce Strong, CEO of Mpact.
“This facility is a key part of our strategy to increase operational efficiency and better serve our regional customers. By being closer to our customers, we can provide faster delivery times and improved service levels.”
The warehouse features state-of-the-art technology to streamline operations and enhance productivity. It includes advanced inventory management systems, allowing Mpact to maintain optimal stock levels and respond more quickly to customer needs.
The facility also incorporates environmentally sustainable features, reflecting Mpact’s commitment to sustainability.
