The L 320 requires little floor space and is suitable for integration into existing lines.

GERMANY – Multivac has expanded its labelling technology portfolio with the introduction of the new L 320 series, a modular solution designed to handle cylindrical and conical products as well as moulded bottles across diverse production environments.
The L 320 supports multiple labelling formats, including wrap-around, front and back, top and seal applications.
Engineered for integration into both new and existing production lines, the system aims to provide flexibility for manufacturers managing varied product shapes and shorter production runs.
To ensure precise label placement, packs are separated and aligned on the conveyor prior to application.
A stable product guide system maintains exact positioning, while servo-driven technology delivers high accuracy at speed.
Depending on operational requirements, multiple label dispensers can be integrated, enabling the application of different labels in a single pass.
Optional pressure systems enhance adhesion reliability, even at high cycle rates. The machine also features a zero-downtime function, allowing label roll changes without interrupting production, an increasingly critical requirement for high-throughput operations.
Compact in footprint, the L 320 is suited to facilities with limited floor space and smaller-scale production environments.

Short changeover times facilitate quick transitions between products and label formats, supporting batch variability and reducing downtime. Low maintenance requirements are designed to improve overall equipment availability.
Digital connectivity is incorporated through Multivac’s Smart Services platform, enabling continuous monitoring and performance optimization
For enhanced quality assurance, the system can be equipped with optical inspection modules that verify label presence, print quality, barcode accuracy, position and pattern. Non-conforming products can be automatically rejected from the line.
In addition, the L 320 can integrate thermal transfer, thermal inkjet and continuous inkjet printers, allowing variable data such as batch codes, expiry dates and serialization information to be applied directly during the labelling process.
With growing demand for flexible, space-efficient and digitally connected packaging solutions, the L 320 reflects a broader industry shift toward modular equipment platforms capable of supporting diverse SKUs, faster product changeovers and higher levels of process control.
Last week, the company presented flexible materials as pEPR drives compliance at Packaging Innovations 2026.
Jon Taylor, product specialist for materials at Multivac, highlighted flexible materials for thermoforming and blow molding, including plain and printed films aligned with recycling trends.
He noted UK packaging EPR (pEPR) rules and rising taxes are driving brand owners toward compliant solutions.
