DENMARK – OptiGroup, a leading business essential distributor, has expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of Danish packaging company Ubro SystemPac (USP), marking a strategic move to bolster its packaging solutions offerings in the Nordic market.
Ubro SystemPac, formed from the merger of Ubro and Systempac in 2010, specializes in packaging products and a comprehensive range of end-of-line packaging machines.
The acquisition is anticipated to strengthen OptiGroup’s position in the packaging sector, particularly in packaging machines and services.
Under this acquisition, Ubro SystemPac will continue to operate under its existing brand within OptiGroup’s Packaging business area.
This strategic move underscores OptiGroup’s commitment to enhancing its market presence and customer offerings in the Nordic packaging industry.
This announcement follows OptiGroup’s recent acquisition of Top Service, a German distributor of tabletop products, food packaging, and cleaning & hygiene products.
The acquisition signifies OptiGroup’s entry into the German market and reinforces its position as a leading European B2B distributor of mission-critical business essentials.
Top Service, founded over 30 years ago by Andreas Zapp, boasts a turnover of approximately EUR 25 million and is renowned for its high-quality facility management products.
Its acquisition aligns with OptiGroup’s international growth strategy to consolidate the European B2B distribution market and attain leading positions in key segments.
Niklas Järbur, Senior Vice President of Facility & Safety at OptiGroup, expressed enthusiasm about the strategic value of the Top Service acquisition, emphasizing its contribution to improving OptiGroup’s customer offering in facility management across Europe.
Meanwhile, Niclas Thiel, Board Director and Principal at FSN Capital Partners, emphasized the significance of Top Service’s inclusion in OptiGroup, underscoring its role in the Group’s growth journey and its commitment to supporting OptiGroup’s M&A strategy.
Andreas Zapp, Founder and CEO of Top Service expressed excitement about joining OptiGroup and leveraging the partnership to expand its product offerings to both existing and new customers in a stronger setting.
The founder and management team of Top Service will remain actively involved in the company, which will operate under the OptiGroup Business Area Facility & Safety. The terms of the transaction remain undisclosed, with completion expected in Q1 of 2024.
