PM Studio acquires TNT Group to build US$152.6M luxury packaging business

Bringing together PM Studio’s secondary packaging and bespoke accessory expertise and TNT Group’s premium primary and secondary packaging, the partnership serves the beauty, wines, and spirits sectors.

FRANCE – PM Studio Group has acquired TNT Group, creating a luxury packaging business with approximately €130 million (US$152.6 million) in combined revenue and strengthening its position across beauty, wines and spirits markets.

The partnership brings together PM Studio’s expertise in secondary packaging and bespoke accessories with TNT Group’s premium primary and secondary packaging solutions for the beauty, wines and spirits sectors.

TNT Group operates in Hong Kong, Paris and New York, while PM Studio Group generates annual revenue of over €70 million (US$82.2 million) with more than 90 employees based internationally.

PM Studio supplies luxury gifting products, secondary packaging and bespoke accessories to brands including Dior, Gucci, Prada and Burberry.

Founders Reinvest Proceeds in Combined Group

TNT Group co-founders Thomas Diezinger and Toby Cattermole are reinvesting a significant share of their sale proceeds in the combined group, alongside other key managers.

Diezinger said that by combining PM Studio Group’s creative studio, research and development culture and secondary packaging expertise with TNT Group’s engineering, the companies would be able to bring brands complete, coherent packaging concepts earlier in their creative process.

Three Innovation Areas Identified

The acquisition aims to open up three new areas of innovation by tapping into each company’s skills and knowledge.

First, it sets out to offer an expanded range covering the entire value chain.

Second, it aims for a stronger presence in complementary markets, including major beauty and luxury groups, fast-growing niche brands, and wines and spirits players.

Third, TNT Group highlights that it will focus on amplifying its international position by securing presence in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.

Recycled Zamak and Monomaterial Designs Target Sustainability

Luxury beauty brands are increasingly innovating to reconcile premium packaging experiences with recyclability, refillability and material reduction.

Diezinger said the challenge remained delivering the weight, tactile quality and visual richness that luxury required while simplifying the pack.

TNT Group holds technical expertise in recycled zamak, a family of zinc-based alloys often used in luxury personal care packaging due to its smooth finish.

The company previously equipped French skincare brand Darphin with two refillable glass containers featuring a gold cage-like structure made from zamak.

Diezinger identified the biggest opportunities in monomaterial designs such as all-cardboard secondary packaging, finishing processes that ennoble materials without adding to their carbon footprint, and materials like recycled zamak, adding that these reinforced how luxury experience and sustainability could go hand in hand.
