The acquisition boosts Asteria’s foothold in the Dutch and broader European label market, while GT Etiketten’s customers gain access to the group’s wider technology and packaging portfolio.

NETHERLANDS – Asteria Group has acquired GT Etiketten & Labels, a Dutch label manufacturer in Schoonebeek, adding eight-colour UV LED flexographic printing and duo-layer multilayer label capabilities to its European production network.
The acquisition, announced on 31 August 2026, adds a production site in Schoonebeek to Asteria’s existing Dutch operations, complementing the group’s current sites and allowing capacity, knowledge and specialist capabilities to be shared across its network.
GT Etiketten produces digitally and flexographically printed labels, as well as blank labels manufactured in-house, serving food labelling, beverage and cosmetics markets.
Technical Capabilities and Market Positioning
GT Etiketten’s operations include eight-colour UV LED flexographic printing and label constructions such as duo-layer multilayer labels, with the company working with a range of materials and adhesives for different applications.
The acquisition strengthens Asteria’s position in the Dutch and broader European label market, with GT Etiketten’s customers gaining access to the group’s wider technologies and packaging capabilities.
GT Etiketten will become part of Asteria’s European production network, with the location intended to complement the group’s current production sites in the Netherlands.
The integration of GT Etiketten’s specialised label capabilities, particularly in duo-layer constructions and UV LED printing, enhances Asteria’s ability to serve customers across food, beverage and cosmetics sectors where label performance and design are critical differentiators.
Asteria’s Growth Strategy and Recent Acquisitions
Asteria Group CEO Ives Declerck stated that GT Etiketten represents exactly the kind of business the group wants to bring into Asteria: technically strong, flexible and close to its customers.
He noted that their expertise adds real value to capabilities in the Netherlands, while their location strengthens the network geographically.
By connecting local knowledge and entrepreneurial approach with the capabilities of the wider Asteria Group, the company can offer even more possibilities to customers without losing the speed and personal service that make GT Etiketten successful.
The acquisition follows Asteria’s purchase of Mercian Labels last month, adding the UK-based company as its 41st production location.
Founded in 1985 and backed by Waterland Private Equity, Asteria operates almost 40 factories across Europe with revenue of approximately €500 million (US$570 million) and aims to become the leading local partner in the European label and packaging market by 2030.
