PoppyPac commits US$0.63M to add filling lines and increase production

UK – PoppyPac, a leading contract manufacturer, is making significant strides in its production capabilities with a substantial investment of over £0.5 million (US$0.63m) to expand its operations.

The company has acquired a new manufacturing site near its existing facility in Hastings, East Sussex, boasting an impressive 103,000 square feet of space—an exponential increase from its current 20,000 square feet premises.

The decision to move to the new location stems from the rapid expansion across all three sectors of PoppyPac’s business: personal care, vitamins and supplements, and pet care.

With demand soaring, the additional space afforded by the new premises will facilitate the installation of new filling lines, augment production capacity, slash lead times, and crucially, provide ample warehouse space for storing raw materials and packaging.

Moreover, the expanded facility opens doors to offering new services such as storage and fulfillment—a response to the growing requests from customers seeking comprehensive solutions beyond product development and manufacturing.

Recognizing a significant demand, especially in the cosmetics sector, PoppyPac views adding fulfillment services as a natural extension of its offerings, providing customers with a convenient ‘one-stop-shop’ solution.

Speaking on the expansion plans, a company spokesperson highlighted the flexibility to scale up production with the availability of space and the intention to introduce more automated filling lines to enhance productivity.

Notably, the recent installation of a new high-speed filling line capable of processing 60 bottles per minute underscores PoppyPac’s commitment to efficiency and innovation.

The expansion is poised to particularly benefit the Pet division, where the company anticipates the most significant growth opportunities.

Moreover, this expansion initiative is expected to create numerous job opportunities in the local community, signaling exciting times ahead for PoppyPac.

In a parallel effort to enhance its offerings, in 2022, the company installed a state-of-the-art aluminum tube filling line, equipped with the latest Norden 402 hot air tube filler technology.

This addition not only bolsters production but also offers customers greater flexibility in launching multiple product variants while minimizing packaging inventory.

With the capability to fill a range of tube sizes at a rate of 40 filled tubes per minute, PoppyPac is well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of its diverse clientele while maintaining its commitment to quality and innovation.
