Hart Print expands US East Coast footprint with third facility

USA – Hart Print, a leading aluminum can digital printing company based in Montréal and a subsidiary of Ardagh Metal Packaging (AMP), is expanding its presence on the U.S. East Coast with the inauguration of its third production facility in Elkton.

The new facility is poised to significantly boost Hart’s printing capacity, adding at least 100 million cans annually, representing a substantial 66% increase from its current output.

Co-founder and co-CEO of Hart Print, JP Paradis, expressed excitement about the synergy between the cutting-edge facility and AMP’s pasteurization-ready cans, which are ideally suited for digital printing.

At the heart of the Elkton facility are three Hinterkopf D360 digital printers, meticulously designed to deliver 1,800dpi magazine photo-quality graphics on aluminum cans, covering over 95% of the color spectrum.

This expansion not only amplifies Hart Print’s production capacity but also elevates its operational agility, enabling swift processing of larger orders while maintaining seamless service for its smaller-scale clientele.

Over the past year, Hart has been diligently training its Elkton team, encompassing production, design, and technical specialists from its Montreal and Chicago facilities.

Stephanie Hart, co-founder, and co-CEO emphasized the strategic significance of this expansion, particularly in providing easier access to cans for the multitude of beverage providers in the Northeastern United States.

By bringing its customizable services closer to East Coast customers, Hart Print aims to drive down shipping costs and enhance customer satisfaction.

The acquisition of Hart Printing by AMP in 2021 was a pivotal move aimed at bolstering AMP’s ability to cater to fast-growing, emerging customers seeking market access—a realm where AMP has long been a leader.

This acquisition further empowers AMP to respond promptly to the shorter-run requirements of larger customers, facilitating new product launches and targeted promotions.

Oliver Graham, CEO of Ardagh Metal Packaging, underscored the strategic importance of integrating Hart Print into AMP’s offering, emphasizing its alignment with AMP’s ongoing growth investment program.

This initiative not only strengthens AMP’s ability to serve a diverse customer base but also positions it for sustained growth and innovation in the years ahead.
