USA – Chicago-based Prime Packaging has recently bolstered its operational capabilities by acquiring the Nilpeter FA-26, a 10-color flexo press.
This state-of-the-art press has been operational since December 2023 and runs two shifts to meet rising demand. It marks Prime Packaging’s first collaboration with Nilpeter.
However, company president and owner Kevin Kollman is well-acquainted with the brand’s reputation for quality.
“Having had prior experience with Nilpeter’s high-quality presses, they were a natural choice as we aimed to enhance our throughput and efficiencies,” said Kollman.
The upgrade to the Nilpeter FA-26 was driven by our unwavering commitment to remain competitive in a swiftly evolving market.
“Our older presses were struggling to keep up with growing customer demands and our goal to adopt expanded color gamut printing capabilities. Upgrading our technology was essential not only to meet current customer needs but also to break into new markets like health and beauty,” he added.
The FA-26 has significantly uplifted Prime Packaging’s production quality, enabling the creation of more intricate images and vibrant flesh tones comparable to those produced by digital and offset printing platforms.
“It’s about exceeding demand, not just meeting it. With features like sleeve-based tooling, job memory, and advanced register control, we are not just keeping pace; we’re setting it,” Kollman noted.
Since its installation, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. “We anticipated good results from upgrading our capabilities, but the performance of this new press has not just met but surpassed our expectations. It has empowered us to secure new business and deliver superior quality products to our customers,” Kollman explained.
Looking to the future, Kollman views the investment in the Nilpeter FA-26 as pivotal for Prime Packaging. “This move is about more than just expanding our services. It’s about progressing with confidence and continuously innovating to stay ahead of the curve,” he concluded.
Lenny DeGirolmo, president of Nilpeter USA, commented on the FA-26’s impact: “Our FA-26 flexo press is making a significant impact in the US market, highly valued for its performance in flexible packaging, color capabilities, automation, and digitalization—all crucial for a modern printing facility.
“These attributes are precisely what Prime Packaging was seeking, and it’s rewarding to see the press excel from the start at their facility. We are pleased with our smooth collaboration and look forward to a continued prosperous relationship.”
