The companies will produce superior and consistent quality specialty papers that meet international benchmarks.

INDIA – PrimeFiber Global Paper Solutions, a newly established player in the paper and packaging sector, has announced a strategic partnership with Naini Papers Limited to develop high-quality specialty packaging papers aimed at replacing select international grades in specific applications.
The collaboration, revealed this week, is particularly significant for PrimeFiber Global, which was incorporated less than a month ago.
Despite its young age, the company has secured the confidence of Naini Papers, one of India’s most advanced integrated paper manufacturers, known for its modern pulp mill and world-class Valmet paper machine.
“This is a matter of great pride and happiness for us,” said a PrimeFiber spokesperson.
“We are honored by the trust placed in us by Naini Papers and Mr. Pawan Agarwal. Together, we will work toward producing superior and consistent quality specialty papers that meet international benchmarks while strengthening India’s self-reliance in packaging materials.”
Naini Papers’ role in the industry
Naini Papers Limited, led by Pawan Agarwal, is recognized as a pioneer in sustainable papermaking and advanced pulp technologies in India.
Agarwal also serves as President of the Indian Paper Manufacturers Association (IPMA), an industry body dedicated to promoting the growth and competitiveness of the Indian paper sector.
The partnership aligns with Naini’s mission to innovate and deliver world-class paper solutions for diverse end-use markets.
The company has invested heavily in environmentally friendly technologies, with a focus on reducing water and energy consumption while increasing product quality.
Strengthening India’s packaging industry
India’s specialty paper segment is experiencing rapid growth, driven by rising demand for sustainable and high-performance packaging across food, pharmaceuticals, and consumer goods industries.
Currently, some grades of specialty packaging papers are imported, creating opportunities for local manufacturers to bridge the gap.
Industry observers note that partnerships such as the one between PrimeFiber and Naini Papers could play a key role in import substitution and in positioning India as a global supplier of innovative paper-based packaging solutions.
“This strategic initiative will help create success stories not just for the companies involved, but also for the Indian paper industry at large,” said a senior market analyst.
“It underscores the sector’s readiness to deliver international-grade products from within India.”
The companies have indicated that development work on the new specialty papers has already begun, with initial products expected to be rolled out in the near future.
