The campaign aims to develop a fun and engaging experience to drive sales and expand Suntop’s reach to include Gen Z consumers.

MIDDLE EAST – Creative technology studio Appetite Creative has teamed up with popular fruit juice brand Suntop to launch an interactive connected packaging campaign targeting students and families during the back-to-school season.
The Mega Back to School 2025 campaign, rolled out across Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, features QR codes printed on Suntop products.
By scanning the codes, consumers can register for a prize draw offering rewards such as trips to Japan, PlayStation 5 consoles, tablets, collectible Funko Pops, and digital wallpapers, which are given to all participants upon registration.
The initiative builds on Suntop’s strategy to engage younger consumers, particularly Gen Z, through digital-first experiences that merge fun, technology, and brand loyalty.
Appetite Creative says the campaign is designed not only to drive sales but also to expand Suntop’s reach into new consumer segments.
According to Appetite Creative, the campaign goes beyond traditional giveaways by offering real-time tracking and analytics.
The branded landing pages monitor buying habits, product preferences, engagement times, scan rates, return users, and social shares.
The system also captures GDPR-compliant consumer data, enabling Suntop to refine marketing strategies and explore cross-selling opportunities across its product portfolio.
“By using QR codes and branded landing pages, we can ensure fair play and track campaign progress in real time,” said Jenny Stanley, Managing Director at Appetite Creative.
“It also allows Suntop to gather valuable insights while delivering a fun, interactive experience.”
Building on campaign success
For Suntop, the 2025 initiative follows the success of its 2024 Tom and Jerry campaign, which achieved an 18% sales uplift.
The brand says it sees interactive packaging as a key tool for building long-term engagement in a region where digital adoption is accelerating rapidly.
“As society increasingly embraces technology, it’s crucial to tailor marketing strategies to align with consumer preferences, maximizing the potential for impactful results,” said Omar Shehata, Brand Manager at Suntop.
The Suntop campaign reflects a wider industry trend toward connected packaging, where QR codes, AR, and digital storytelling are increasingly used to link physical products with digital experiences.
Analysts say such strategies are particularly effective in the Gulf, where mobile-first consumers are eager for interactive brand experiences.
With Appetite Creative’s expertise in data-driven campaigns and Suntop’s strong regional presence, the Back-to-School 2025 campaign is expected to boost both brand engagement and sales momentum across the Gulf.
