USA – ProAmpac, a leader in flexible packaging and material science, has launched an enhanced version of its online pouch configurator, MAKR by DASL, to streamline the packaging design process.
The updated tool, powered by the 3D Source Configuration Platform and Unreal Engine technology, improves the user interface and simplifies graphic development.
This advanced configurator allows Customers to easily design custom, high-quality digital prototypes for flexible packaging.
MAKR by DASL allows users to select from various formats, including pouches, bags, and food-to-go packaging.
The tool allows full customization, with options to adjust dimensions, add features, and incorporate graphics to create a unique package. Customers can also receive a physical prototype of their design within two weeks, enabling faster product development.
Sal Pellingra, ProAmpac’s Vice President of Global Package Design, Applications, and Business Development, emphasized the ease of the tool, stating, “MAKR by DASL revolutionizes virtual prototyping by providing a quick and easy platform to design packaging online without complicated software or external resources. A recent collaboration with Brackett’s Orchards in Maine showcases the configurator’s effectiveness.
The orchard used MAKR to design packaging for its new retail product, Brackett’s Best Apple Chips.
The tool allowed them to select a package format, customize its size, add a closure, and explore various graphic options, speeding up the commercialization process.
Josh Paulin, owner of Brackett’s Orchards, praised the platform, “By utilizing MAKR by DASL, our ideas came to life. We easily created package designs and evaluated artwork ideas. ProAmpac shortened the product launch from what I thought would take many months to just weeks.

This launch follows ProAmpac’s introduction of the ProActive Recyclable FiberCool in June, a patent-pending curbside recyclable insulated bag designed for the food and grocery delivery sector.
FiberCool provides superior temperature retention while offering an eco-friendly alternative to traditional packaging.
The product further emphasizes ProAmpac’s commitment to innovation and sustainability, catering to the growing demand for recyclable and high-performance packaging solutions.
