Rang Roto Pack expands into flexo printing with Multitec S3S investment

The new flexo line will complement its gravure operations, handling 20–100 kg print volumes.

INDIA – Ahmedabad-based Rang Roto Pack has made a major move into the flexible packaging segment with the purchase of a Multitec S3S Sleeve flexo press, marking the company’s first foray into flexographic printing.

The nine-colour, 670-mm press is equipped with LED UV, conventional UV, and hot-air drying systems, allowing the converter to handle diverse substrates and shorter production runs with greater efficiency.

“This is our first flexo printing press,” said Primal Patel, Director of Rang Roto Pack.

“We are already active in the packaging domain with a rotogravure setup from Pelican, but the S3S will allow us to cater to short- and mid-run flexible jobs, a rapidly growing segment where customers demand faster turnaround and lower volumes without compromising quality.”

The company currently operates a single gravure press and converts around 110 metric tonnes of flexible packaging material per month, primarily producing zip-lock and stand-up pouches.

The new flexo line will complement its gravure operations, handling 20–100 kg print volumes across flexible pouches, roll forms, and direct foil printing.

Patel noted that this investment positions Rang Roto Pack to serve both domestic and international clients as it looks to expand beyond India.

“The flexible packaging market is evolving fast,” he added. “With SKUs increasing and average run lengths getting shorter, the S3S gives us a competitive edge. It allows us to offer both gravure and flexo solutions under one roof, a value proposition our customers truly appreciate.”

Amit Ahuja of Multitec Aids described the S3S as “a blend of proven engineering and advanced drying and sleeve technology.”

He noted, “With LED UV, conventional UV, and hot-air options, it offers unmatched flexibility to converters. Rang Roto’s adoption of this configuration shows how mid-web flexo is becoming a preferred choice for efficient, high-quality flexible packaging.”

The press is expected to be installed and operational by the end of November 2025, underscoring Rang Roto Pack’s strategy to stay ahead of shifting market dynamics.

The move reflects a broader trend among Indian converters, including Astron Packaging, Shree Tirupati Balajee, and Skanem India, who have recently invested in hybrid and mid-web flexo presses to meet rising demand for shorter runs, faster turnarounds, and sustainable production.

With this investment, Rang Roto Pack joins a growing list of converters leveraging flexo innovation to enhance responsiveness, expand market reach, and strengthen their role in India’s fast-evolving packaging landscape.
