Reconomy expands North American network with Lincoln Waste Solutions acquisition

USA – Reconomy, the international circular economy specialist, has announced the acquisition of Lincoln Waste Solutions LLC, a leading US-based waste and recycling management and consulting firm.

Lincoln, founded in 2005, is headquartered in Windsor, Connecticut. It provides a comprehensive, full-service approach to managing all types of waste and recycling.

Their services encompass recycling, waste consulting, hauler management, and back-office support. They aim to work closely with clients and vendors to enhance waste efficiency, increase recycling rates, and achieve significant cost savings.

Lincoln has a strong track record of serving hundreds of clients across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico, including multi-location, regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries.

The company leverages longstanding relationships with over 6,000 haulers to deliver exceptional outcomes and efficiencies.

This expertise aligns with Reconomy’s experience in delivering a market-leading outsourced model in the UK, allowing Reconomy to bring additional value to its customers.

This acquisition marks Reconomy’s first US-based transaction, representing a significant strategic milestone for the company.

It provides a platform to accelerate growth in North America using Reconomy’s tech-enabled, people-powered approach.

The move builds on Reconomy’s existing presence in North America. Through its RLG brand, it powers the common collection scheme for kerbside recycling in Ontario, Canada, and manages WEEE and battery compliance obligations for major consumer electronics brands across the US from its offices in New Jersey.

The acquisition follows a series of recent UK and international acquisitions, including Circle Waste and Sudamin Rohstoff this year and five other highly complementary transactions in 2023.

These developments add momentum to Reconomy’s rapid international growth, built on its market-leading position in the UK, where it has been a pioneer in the circular economy for over 30 years.

Reconomy has expanded its operations to over 80 countries, employing over 4,000 colleagues and servicing over 10,000 customers.
