USA – Refresco, a beverage bottle manufacturer, has confirmed an investment of US$30.5 million to expand its facility in Joplin, a city located in southwest Missouri, USA.
The company plans to add a new production line to expand the current capacity of its distribution center, as reported by Missourinet.
Associated work is expected to create 40 new jobs at the site, with wages expected to be well above the county’s average.
For this expansion, Refresco is receiving assistance from the Missouri Department of Economic Development’s (DED) division, Missouri One Start.
Missouri One Start, as the state’s workforce recruitment and training division, assists eligible businesses with their recruitment and training requirements.
In a tweet, the Missouri DED said: “Refresco, a nationwide beverage bottling manufacturer, will expand in Joplin, investing US$30.5 million and creating 40 new jobs.”
In addition, Refresco is set to benefit from the Missouri Works program, which is a tool that provides companies with access to capital through withholdings or tax credits. This capital can be used for job creation and business expansion.
Missouri Governor Mike Parson said, “Our state’s low costs, skilled workforce, and commitment to infrastructure are yielding positive outcomes, particularly in our southwest region.”
“We anticipate the ongoing success of this company in Joplin and the positive impact it will have on the local community in Missouri.”
Refresco currently has more than 70 production sites across Europe, North America, and Australia, as reported by KZRG.
The company produces a variety of bottled beverage products, including water, soft drinks, fruit juices, energy drinks, and others.
Missouri DED Acting Director Michelle Hataway said, “Refresco’s growth in Joplin is creating opportunities that are helping Missourians prosper.
“This company’s decision to expand its existing location demonstrates our state’s ability to provide what businesses need to thrive. We appreciate all of our partners who supported this project and helped bring additional investment and jobs to southwest Missouri.”
This development follows a similar expansion that the company undertook in Truesdale, investing US$22 million and creating 30 new jobs.
The company’s investment in its existing Warren County location will increase the capacity for beverage manufacturing by installing an additional production line.
Refresco’s Truesdale facility is its fourth and largest plant in Missouri. The company has 74 production locations across North America, Europe, and Australia, employing more than 13,000 people.
In addition to expanding its facility in Warren County, Refresco has made a significant contribution to support the Warren County R-III School District, its faculty, alumni, and students.
