Roccoco Botanicals accelerates global reach through Packserv automation upgrade

The upgrade replaced manual packaging processes with an automated system

AUSTRALIA – Queensland-based skincare specialist Roccoco Botanicals has integrated a comprehensive packaging system from Packserv to handle surging international orders.

The move allows the company to process batches in just one-quarter of the previous duration, streamlining operations amid rapid expansion.

Established in 2011 after its founder’s efforts to tackle chronic skin issues, Roccoco developed a targeted line for conditions like acne, eczema, pigmentation, and aging.

The brand’s products have gained traction worldwide, prompting a shift to a 3,500-square-meter facility in Yatala.

Exports now flow to the United States, Canada, and New Zealand, with India launches planned before the year’s end and further pushes into Asia and the Middle East in progress.

Manual handling once sufficed for smaller volumes, but rising output for overseas markets called for automated tools backed by on-site assistance.

David Drummond, Roccoco’s general manager, noted that Packserv’s domestically produced gear provides the reliability needed for consistent scaling.

Imported alternatives often lead to delays in repairs and part deliveries, he explained, creating unnecessary halts in workflow.

The installed setup from Packserv encompasses a filler, capper, labeller, and conveyor, converting hand-based tasks into a fluid automated sequence.

This change has cut processing times sharply while ensuring precision in output. Drummond added that the local support network and quick access to components keep interruptions low, maintaining steady production rhythms.

He described the overall shift as a complete operational overhaul that matches the pace of global sales growth.

Packserv’s involvement highlights the advantages of homegrown equipment for Australian firms navigating export challenges.

Nathan Wardell, the company’s managing director, stated in a recent update that such installations equip businesses with cutting-edge tools plus immediate technical aid.

Wardell pointed out that Roccoco’s smoother runs exemplify how tailored solutions drive reliable expansion without the pitfalls of overseas dependencies.

In related developments, a Shorr Packaging survey released in January 2025 revealed that 68% of over 2,000 U.S. consumers actively seek out brands using reduced-plastic or recyclable packaging, influencing choices in categories like personal care.

This data, drawn from nationwide responses, shows a clear tilt toward eco-conscious options despite economic pressures, with 55%  willing to pay up to 10% more for such features.

As Roccoco advances its footprint, projected to add US$2.5 million in annual revenue from new regions, the enhanced line supports not only speed but also the integration of sustainable materials in its botanicals range.

With these efficiencies in place, the company eyes sustained output to capture emerging markets through 2026.
