BELGIUM – Swiss packaging solutions provider SIG has partnered with SOLAREC to continue supplying it with aseptic carton filling machines.
The machines provided by SIG are renowned for their advanced technology and efficiency in filling and sealing cartons.
They are designed to ensure the highest level of product quality and safety, while also maintaining the freshness and integrity of the dairy products.
SIG has announced that four new Midi 12 Aseptic filling machines will replace the outdated production lines at SOLAREC.
The company has already installed the first machine for SOLAREC in the third quarter of the current year.
By leveraging SIG’s filling machines, SOLAREC can further optimize its production and offer a variety of sustainable packaging solutions, such as tethered caps, to its customers.
SOLAREC CEO Louis Ska said, “For us, SIG is the best partner for this because we get excellent filling machine technology, sustainable packs, state-of-the-art digital solutions, and outstanding service from a single source.
“As a result, we not only pack our products efficiently and sustainably, but we also offer a wider range of products to our retail customers.”
According to SIG, each filling machine will allow the dairy company to offer two different packaging formats, SIG MidiBloc and SIG MidiFit, in two different volume sizes – 500ml and 1,000ml.
The company added that the format change can be made within 30 minutes, and the volume change can be done in less than 15 minutes, providing maximum flexibility.
The Midi 12 Aseptic filling machine has an output of 12,000 packs per hour, which is said to be sufficient to meet SOLAREC’s annual production requirement of 190 million liters of ultra-high-temperature (UHT) milk.
In addition, SIG will provide its end-to-end digital solutions, including SIG Connector and SIG Asset Health Monitoring, to further enhance the productivity and efficiency of SOLAREC’s filling lines.
SIG Europe President and General Manager, José Matthijsse, added, “The SIG team is excited to be SOLAREC’s partner for the future.
“We are excited to support SOLAREC in their efforts to offer efficient, flexible, and sustainable packaging solutions for the benefit of all.”
Earlier this month, SIG introduced a uniquely different on-the-go carton bottle called the SIG DomeMini.
The small-sized carton pack offers the convenience of a plastic bottle, while also providing the sustainability benefits of a carton pack.
The SIG DomeMini is designed to captivate attention and encourage consumers to reconsider their packaging choices, especially in terms of sustainability.
Beverage manufacturers also have the opportunity to choose a solution that puts significantly less plastic on the market and caters to the growing ‘paperization’ trend.
