USA – International Paper (IP) has tapped Andrew Silvernail to succeed Mark Sutton as chief executive of the paperproducts maker, effective May 1.
With over two decades of experience in leading global companies within the manufacturing and technology sectors, Silvernail joins IP from KKR & Co., Inc., where he served as an executive advisor.
Previously, he held prominent roles such as Chairman and CEO of Madison Industries and Chairman and CEO of IDEX Corporation, where he significantly boosted employee engagement and drove remarkable total shareholder returns.
Chris Connor, International Paper’s Lead Director, expressed confidence in Silvernail’s ability to enhance the company’s leadership team, citing his strategic acumen and proven track record in creating value.
Reflecting on Sutton’s tenure, Connor lauded his remarkable contributions to IP’s growth and resilience, particularly during challenging economic periods, culminating in record market capitalization.
Sutton, expressing confidence in the succession process, emphasized Silvernail’s experience and the collective expertise of IP’s senior leadership team to propel the company forward.
Silvernail, expressing his honor to join International Paper, highlighted the company’s resilience and its commitment to sustainability and community impact under Sutton’s leadership.
He pledged to leverage IP’s strong foundation for growth and innovation, emphasizing collaboration with the board and the company’s global workforce to achieve its vision of being a sustainable and responsible industry leader.
Kammac names new CEO & other senior management positions
In a parallel development, Kammac, a third-party logistics provider, announced Ged Carabini as its new CEO, bringing 30 years of logistics experience to the role.
Carabini, previously serving as commercial director and chief operating officer at Kammac, is tasked with leading the company’s growth initiatives within the Elanders’ Group portfolio, particularly in e-commerce fulfillment services.
Additionally, Gavin Varey joins Kammac as the new director of procurement and facilities management, leveraging his extensive experience in strategic sourcing and supply chain optimization.
Carabini expressed enthusiasm for his new role and welcomed Varey to the senior management team, emphasizing the collective expertise and commitment to delivering exceptional logistics services.
Following its acquisition by the Elanders’ Group, Kammac aims to expand its presence across various sectors, including beverage, FMCG, e-commerce, pharmaceutical, and healthcare, building on its reputation as a leading logistics specialist in the UK.
