Tarabichi Global expands flexo fleet with three multitec orders

With five Multitec presses already, the Jordanian converter’s new order brings the total to eight post-installation, mirroring ongoing Middle East investment for short-run flexible packaging demand.

JORDAN – Tarabichi Global has placed orders for three Multitec flexographic presses, completing acceptance testing on two machines and committing to an eighth unit as part of a broader expansion of its flexible packaging capacity.

The Jordanian converter already operates five Multitec presses, and the latest commitment raises that total to eight once installation is complete.

The order reflects sustained capital investment by Middle East packaging producers responding to regional demand for short-run flexible formats.

The largest unit in the delivery is a nine-colour, 670mm sleeve-based press built for flexible packaging production, while a second machine from the same order serves pressure-sensitive label and shrink sleeve applications.

Servo Architecture Enables Pressure Precision

The nine-colour press is engineered around an automated servo platform carrying eight servo motors at each print station and more than 80 servo drives across the machine.

Multitec’s servo auto-pressure control system maintains consistent pressure across varying print repeats and material thicknesses throughout the full speed range.

A reversible first print unit removes the need for turnbars when running thin films, simplifying substrate handling and reducing setup complexity for lightweight structures.

In-Line Foiling and Lamination Added

Tarabichi Global specified the press with two in-line foiling stations and a laminator, allowing printing, decorative finishing and lamination to be completed in a single pass.

Combining these processes in-line reduces handling between stages and shortens turnaround for branded packaging work requiring metallic effects or protective layers.

Acceptance Testing Records Ten-Minute Changeovers

During factory acceptance testing, multiple jobs were validated across different materials, repeats and plate sets.

Job changeovers involving both substrate and plate changes were consistently completed within 10 minutes, demonstrating repeatability for short-run production where frequent switching determines throughput economics.

Relationship Built on Repeat Investment

The successive orders underline the strength of the relationship between converter and supplier.

Tarabichi Global chose to place its largest Multitec commitment during the acceptance visit itself, adding to a partnership shaped by demonstrated performance across previous installations.

For Middle East packaging converters, access to faster changeovers and in-line finishing capability supports competitiveness against imported flexible packaging, while allowing brands to place smaller, more frequent orders without incurring prohibitive setup costs.
