The greenfield investment will boost production capacity by 30% while consolidating manufacturing, R&D and engineering capabilities into a single advanced campus.

INDIA – Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has broken ground on a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, marking a significant expansion of its India operations and reinforcing the country’s growing role in global industrial supply chains.
The greenfield project, spanning 50,000 square meters, is scheduled for completion in 2027 and is expected to increase the company’s production capacity in India by 30%.
The new campus will integrate advanced manufacturing, research and development, application engineering, a Customer Solutions Center, supply chain operations, and global IT services under one roof, streamlining operations and accelerating innovation.
Trelleborg, which established its first Bengaluru facility in 2005, has steadily expanded its footprint in India, driven by strong local demand, increasing localization efforts, and proximity to key customers.
The new site will feature 30,000 square meters of built-up space dedicated to manufacturing a wide portfolio of sealing technologies, including PTFE products, rotary shaft seals, mechanical face seals, and polyurethane-based solutions.
The facility is designed to serve multiple high-growth sectors, including aerospace, automotive, industrial automation, semiconductors, and energy.
Notably, the investment signals the company’s intent to strengthen its position in aerospace manufacturing in India, aligning with the country’s ambitions to become a global aviation hub.
A dedicated R&D center equipped with advanced materials and testing laboratories will support product development and faster customer response times.
The site will operate under globally recognized certifications such as AS/EN 9100, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, ensuring compliance across critical industries.
The development also reflects a broader industry trend, with multinational manufacturers increasingly investing in India to diversify supply chains and tap into its skilled workforce.
Companies such as SKF and Parker Hannifin have similarly expanded their engineering and manufacturing capabilities in the region, particularly in sealing and fluid power technologies.
In parallel, India’s policy push, backed by initiatives like “Make in India”, continues to attract foreign direct investment into advanced manufacturing, with Karnataka emerging as a preferred destination for high-value industrial projects.
Beyond capacity expansion, Trelleborg’s new campus is designed with a strong focus on sustainability, safety, and energy efficiency.
The investment is expected to create hundreds of jobs while supporting regional economic development and strengthening India’s position as a global manufacturing hub for high-performance engineered components.
Company leadership emphasized that the integrated facility will enhance collaboration, accelerate innovation cycles, and improve responsiveness to both domestic and international customers, cementing Trelleborg’s long-term commitment to the Indian market.
