WeighPack Systems launches High-Speed Weigh Filler for rigid containers

The system aims to deliver ‘exceptional’ throughput and consistency for demanding production environments.

CANADA – WeighPack Systems has introduced its High-Speed Rigid Container Weigh Filling System, a new tool designed for food, cannabis, snack, nutraceutical, hardware, and specialty product makers.

The equipment processes up to 150 containers per minute with precise weight control and gentle product handling.

Company officials noted that the system maintains accuracy across various product types while integrating smoothly into existing production lines.

At the core of the setup lies the 24-Head PrimoCombi, which handles high-resolution weighing for diverse items.

This pairs with the Spindexer HS Rotary Filler, featuring a gear-worm transfer, triple star wheel assembly, and dual timing catch boxes for steady container flow.

These elements deliver uniform fills and cut down on excess product dispensing.

Operators benefit from an integrated walk-around platform that simplifies checks and upkeep, supporting smoother daily operations.

To cut downtime, the design uses color-coded parts for changeovers, letting teams swap components between container sizes or product variants in minutes with low error chances.

“This feature lets our clients shift production runs faster than ever, keeping lines moving without interruptions,” said Dave McMillin, WeighPack’s director of sales.

The system connects easily with downstream tools like cappers, labelers, case packers, and sealers, working with all rigid container forms.

Interior status lights give instant views of machine performance, aiding quick issue spotting.

This launch arrives amid a wave of packaging advancements aimed at efficiency and reduced waste in manufacturing.

Earlier this year, Syntegon rolled out a line for liquid pharmaceuticals that tackles high output, equipment availability, product recovery, and limited operator involvement.

The setup includes a gloveless isolator to automate tasks and limit human contact, helping pharmaceutical firms streamline sterile filling.

In a related development, Rotzinger PharmaPack debuted its filling and capping platform for over-the-counter items, covering non-aseptic drugs, cosmetics, personal care goods, and nutraceuticals.

The unit shrinks floor space by more than 50% through automation and modular swaps, easing setup for smaller facilities.

Rotzinger representatives stated the platform handles both solid and liquid formats reliably.

Adding to these innovations, Pulp in Action recently unveiled paper-based solutions for beauty packaging, shifting away from plastics to cut environmental impact in the sector.

Meanwhile, the cosmetics field sees growing adoption of refillable systems, as noted in a December 10 update, which extend product life and lower single-use waste.

OSY Group announced on the same day an expansion of antimicrobial packaging tech into South Africa and Namibia, extending shelf life for packaged goods in emerging markets.
